Welcome Back To The NFL Michael Vick!

ESPN reported on its Web site Thursday night that an anonymous source said Goodell had decided on a conditional reinstatement that would allow Vick to attend training camp if he signs with a team and that he also could be suspended for the first four games of the 2009 season.

DateDoc 07-23-2009 07:36 PM

A lot of ppl have done a lot worse and been allowed to play.

Of course it is. At the end of the day, jocks will do anything to win and business men will do whatever it takes to make money. It's a no brainer. As long as he's a free man, no way they're going to put a golden goose out to pasture. Similar situation as to what has been going on with TO for the last 10 years except without the dog abuse. Major asshole, everyone knows it, but can make big plays, win games, sell tickets and put asses in seats. Jocks and business men can't resist and would probably sacrifice a thousand dogs to win a Super Bowl.

brassmonkey 07-23-2009 07:50 PM

he killed some damn dogs people have them with fries in asia

fatfoo 07-23-2009 07:59 PM

He's back allright. Michael Vick.

MetaMan 07-23-2009 08:00 PM

he did his time so why should everyone still care?

to many people in this world are self righteous assholes who are quick to point the finger like they are perfect.

if he for the rest of his life not supposed to do what he is good at... FOOTBALL?

imagine if you went to jail on a charge most people didnt agree with, did your time and when you were out you were denied from working on computers, an extreme example but same merit.

LET THE GUY PLAY

CDSmith 07-23-2009 08:10 PM

My take on it is that what the guy did is something only a true piece of shit does, he did his time, and now if his fellow players can find a way to stand the guy and the league is okay with any stain their brand might suffer by reinstating him then I have no problem with it.

Let him play.

Yeah, like 24 days for a DUI manslaughter.

Zuzana Designs 07-23-2009 09:06 PM

He's like the tubes of adult. He's here and will prevail. Just accept it. He did something really fucked up. But will now be allowed to play. I bet he comes back and is just as exciting as he used to be times 10. He now realizes what he had, and will work harder to be great and take nothing for granted. Personally as an animal lover I think it is fucked up. But I think stealing content is fucked up as well. So I will just watch and hope he gets smashed by the linebackers in the nfl that have puppies.

kane 07-23-2009 09:51 PM

When he signs with a team there will be a million critics who are wary of what he can offer and if the team will suffer bad publicity. If he plays and plays well that team will be making him the public face of their team as how a guy can do wrong, serve his time and find redemption.

Look at a guy like Kobe Bryant. At best he is a guy who cheated on his wife. At worst he is a guy who raped a chick and got off. Only he and the girl he was with know the truth. When that happened he lost endorsements and there were a lot of people who thought that his career might be over. Now he is one of the faces of the NBA. People love a winner. If Vick becomes a winner all will be forgotten.

Ahh my good friend shows up again. Seems you're a falcons fan. Sorry you lost your QB to dog fighting.
He will be back for a new team this year.

I'm glad you're happy :) You have a very solid team this year. Playoffs for sure, Ryan rocks. I'm an Atlanta fan too. I always drive down to watch a few games every year.

Hit me up I would love to get together for a drink and food. Atlanta scares me a little. I stayed at the Omni Cnn center last time and my car almost got stolen. I got trashed at the hooters too haha. But all in all a great place.

All I can say is thank god we got rid of him for LT back when we did (trading draft picks but same thing more or less). We may not have made a Super Bowl since then but I'd hate to think where we'd be if we had kept Vick...yikes!

okok 07-23-2009 11:54 PM

This isn't about morals or ethics, it's about the UFL threatening to own Vick for a year.

It would be an utter embarrassment to the NFL to see one of the most talented players ever slumming it in Orlando.

Did you ever see a televised highlight of the XFL? Unless it was the back of Rod Smart's jersey, probably not. A guy like Vick would have had them on the news daily.

The guys running the UFL are smart cookies. If anyone can make a few bucks running another football league, they can.

You'd have an LT who can also pass sometimes?

http://www.qhdu.com/Vick.jpg

His actions have cost him more than 100 million dollars in salary and endorsement deals, along with more than two years of his life. His debt to society has been paid in full according to the laws we live under.

More than that, is it really so hard to believe that a very poor person who was raised to compete in a very violent game his entire life might make the error of thinking that as a rich person he ought to raise pets to compete in an even more violent game? :2 cents:

My bad on the Stallworth, as he hasn't done something worse *and* is still playing.

Then again, the NFL has of yet to close the door to that possibility.

I know there are other examples, but I don't recall the names. If memory serves, there was also another guy who was involved in a DUI fatality, and I think he just got suspended for a few games.

GetSCORECash 07-24-2009 08:18 AM

This was posted in the Miami Herald on Tuesday:

Quote:

An associate said Michael Vick isn't enamored with playing for Orlando in the United Football League, but a $1 million offer would be tempting if he's suspended by the NFL or if no NFL team bids. And no, the Dolphins haven't inquired about Vick. (Dennis Green predicted Vick could sign with Miami, but the Dolphins have Pat White for that role.)

DateDoc 07-24-2009 11:07 AM

Whoever picks him is going to need some serious guarantees. Plus he owes the Falcons $3-$7 million in a settlement.

gwidomains 07-24-2009 11:16 AM

What Vick did was pretty dispicable according to our standards and clearly against the law. However, I do find it odd that he served more time than Stallworth's 24 days for taking a life, and Kobe other players issues with rape, guns, and drug charges.

Steve OSS 07-24-2009 11:36 AM

I've always enjoyed watching Michael Vick on the football field. There is no doubt that he is one of the most exciting players to watch all else aside…I look forward to seeing him back.

96ukssob 07-24-2009 11:39 AM

they better reinstate him in madden '10. he was the fastest QB in the game

Jezzz I hate dog fights and think it is a nasty thing! But If Vick weren't black, and a big face in the NFL You and me would not hear anything about this after the first news report! He lost everything for making a bad judgment! What is really sad is he served more time in jail then a lot of rapist, murders etc.. He fucked up, HEY Everyone fucks up at one point or another!

I don't like sports not into them, but I do hope he gets his job back! *shrugs*

I would personally pick Ryan any day over Vick to QB my team.

Look at his stats herE: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ick/index.html

"According to the indictment, dogs that didn't show enough fighting spirit, or that lost matches, were put to death by a variety of methods, including shooting, drowning, hanging and electrocution. Prosecutors allege that on one occasion earlier this year, Vick participated in killing eight dogs."

He should be in prison for another ten years, minimum.

Tat2Jr 07-24-2009 11:02 PM

Fuck Vick.... it's people like him that make me wish I believed in hell.

mvee 07-24-2009 11:30 PM

I just don't see any team picking him up . He was a mediocre QB at best in his prime, He isn't a pure passer and relied heavily on his legs to mask that. At this point in his career I don't see him adding anything to any team compared to the baggage he brings. Some team is going to give him a try out but i bet he doesn't make the final 54
