CamFun.com selling on Sedo now
 

After a previous thread, I appreciate all your input on what to do with this domain but have decided to shove it up on sedo after getting a further offer of $12.5k.

It's been getting 3000-4000 visitors a month for the last 5 years without anything but a single page of links, so it's quite liked by Google etc.

Pains me to let it go but hey ho, sometimes it's right to muck about and see what happens.

Yeah not bad is what I started thinking I guess... though it is ranked #1 on google for various long tail webcam terms, I'm sure whoever got it could add some pages with decent keywords and watch the traffic jump.... just never got round to it. Ah the days when I used to be bothered to work :)

Still 1 bid, expect it'll stay that way. Noted potential buyers have to certificate themselves with some kind of manual effort if bidding above $10k, so am sure that'll put some off or indeed make some too late to get there in time, hrm.

I bet the guy that bought camgirls.com is seething because he could have gotten a domain with one less letter for a mere fraction of what he paid...

In essence, but I'm not going through with it. Several people emailed me immediately afterwards, very serious buyers having submitted their docs to sedo 2 days ago and weren't certificated in time to bid. So the domain didn't get its fair price and the marketplace wasn't fair. Have contacted my lawyer.

Fair comment... if I'd put it on ebay there'd have been none of this crap though...

seems like a fair price for that domain. I wonder what the buyer will say when sedo tells him/her that you will not honor the auction?

On Ebay you would have gotten the traffic, but all poor snooks looking for a deal. On Sedo (I don't like them) but you have serious domianers that have big $$$. Perhaps trying to sell your domain in a recession was a mistake.

I think the name is okay and would be an asset to someone who would have a plan to develope it for a cam social network, etc. It sounds more mainstream then adult. I would take the money and reinvest it into perhaps another domain name that you want to develope. As far as testing your traffic...you should have made a white label cam site to see if it would make some money. This would also help with the sale, okay domain, traffic, and sales = $$$$$$
