Free Site Map software?
 

Can anyone recommend some free software good for putting together detailed site maps? I?m using photoshop right now, but I find it kind of a pain in the ass? so if there?s something better out there, please let me know. Thanks!

You are using Photoshop for a site map?? How does that work? Is your site running on a preexisting CMS or something custom?

No no - sorry I meant illustrator -- and by site map I mean a document I hand over to a designer that outlines the general wireframe I want for the site. I'm just not sure if there is some software I could use to make that process easier.

Oh ok, unfortunately I can't offer much advice on that one. Thought you were referring to XML sitemaps.

Have you ever used Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.org/) for development? There are a few plugins for creating wireframes. Check out the one below.

Eclipse isn't for everyone, but once you get used to it, it's amazing.

You can also use flowchart software for this - check out this list: http://www.osalt.com/visio

I know it sounds strange, but I used to tell people to do the chart in Excel or any other Spreadsheet if they were looking for a flow-diagram, and they dident have Visio
