Kimo partied all of the time with meth, coke, ecstasy and alcohol then would do serious steroids and growth cycles before a fight. This was before drug testing fighters was state mandatory.

These guys abuse the body way to much to get to the top. Then when they do well they take the money they made and abuse it more. Its a shame to die so young.

He got busted a few months back for posing as a police officer. Not sure what that was all about. He looked pretty rough in his mug shot.

I remember when he entered the ring carrying a cross like Jesus on one of the original (badass) UFC fights. The first ones were the best in my opinion. No weight divisions, no rules, just some crazy ass fights. Watching Gracie get beat like a dog by all these guys and then finally wrap them up like a crab to "win" even though he was barely able to walk was awesome!
These days they would have stopped those fights and Gracie would never have won. Also thinking back to those first 10 or so UFC's...when I read guys complaining about Brock Lesnar's "theatrics" I have to laugh. Those first ones were WAY more theatrical. And tougher too. Watching Gracie fight a 400 pound monster was awesome. Tons of blood and gore and genuine TOUGH guys. It was truly a FIGHT back then. Of course it was banned no time at all and they had to reinvent it with a bunch of rules etc. But boy, that brief couple of years in the mid-1990s was just some amazing PPV's. And of course having NFL great Jim Brown on the announce team was pure gold. heh-heh |

I hope he is not dead - I haven't spoken to Kimo in quite some time but we went to high school together and played football together.
He moved back to Hawaii and got mixed up in drugs and collecting for dealers until he found God. That's when he started fighting professionally. This is really sad to hear that he is back on drugs again. :disgust |
