Do you Canadians have a progressive tax

...system? What is the minimum tax rate and the highest tax rate or if you have a flat tax rate what is it?

We most certainly don't want your foolish, broken down, old ass up here in Canada.

theking 07-21-2009 10:20 AM

Hmm...it appears that you do have a progressive tax system with lower rates then the US...even though you also have a socialized heath care system. Interesting.

Lower rates than the US? You're about as fucking stupid as possible. Maybe try adding provinvial and federal tax rates together, Einstein.

income taxes are not our only taxes. We have GST (national sale tax)
and a shit load of tarriffs and product specific taxes (piracy tax, cigs, booze, gas) which eat the remaining disposable income.

Most US states also have a sales tax.

Almost all states have sales tax...and those that don't make up for it in other types of taxes (property tax...state income tax etc.)...we also have all of the other taxes that you named.

Combine the provincial rates and it should be a bit higher than US. For example:

I should have said (higher property tax...higher state income tax etc. than those states that have a sales tax). For example I moved from California to Oregon. Oregon does not have a sales tax but I do pay higher property tax and higher State income tax than I did in California.

ours are way higher
taxes make our gas like 4 bucks a gallon or more

and you don't have a piracy tax.

You are correct...no piracy tax. Here in the states the average working person has 30% plus withheld from their paychecks...what would be the average in Canada?
