With the exception of Aluminum, which has a real world value, it costs more money, uses more energy and creates more air born pollutions to recycle than it does to create new. So remember when you're sorting your papers from your plastics and pealing off labels, you're not really saving the enviroment, you're creating some shitty make work jobs at the cost of Billions of dollars in tax payer money every year.

I'm just sayin'.

How does recycling impact landfills?

A landfill 35 miles square could process all of the garbage for the United States for the next 1000 years. Running out of landspill space was just another myth started by one report that mistakingly argued there was less landfills capacity because there were less landfills. No accounting was taken for the size of the landfills and in reality, there was more overall capacity not less.
