porntubeportal(.)com, i shoulda listened

ok, being as i am new to the game and working out some kinks and roughly trying to figure out for myself how everything works through experience, I have realized that my domain porntubeportal(.)com needs to havea bit of rebuffing. ok, so if my domain was a tranny it would roughly need some silicone injections and a weave, or at least a wig. so as id liked to take advantage of all the combined experience that most members on gofuckyourself have. currently my domain porn tube portal . com has been experiencing decent traffic, its my first site so give me a break if its not really decent traffic. when coming up with the idea for the site i always figured everyone could use a resource like that, boy was I fucking wrong. Looks like look they needle a needle exchange for common sense, so that way i could just go get some new and clean common sense works and be high on affiliate sales for the next few months. sorry, can a nigga dream? so all drug induced rambling aside i got a few questions. I like the domain porn tube portal (.) com, ever since porn tube sites starting sprouting up faster then ghetto ass welfare moms can pop out little ghetto ass welfare recipients, I've wondered why the domain doesnt exist. Well not that its a grand name, but it sticks in my head. So i have been pondering ideas about just what i should do to monetize the domain to the full potential that I know it has. I want to know if since most all of you have a tube site or 2 or 3, what you think of the idea of taking down all those punk ass tube sites with all those fuckin punk ass long clips that couldnt earn anyone a damn thing, accept for of course themselves, and turned it into a porn tube directory. the qualifications to be listed in the directory are that you must consider yourself a tube site, and your clips must be no longer than 3-5 minutes, and you must link back. Now to monetize this domain i was thinking selling priorty placements, maybe a thumbnail with your link. and even a short but sweet and witty, review of each tube site for a small fee. i was wondering if you have a tube site if you would be willing to pay for a thumbnail and small review for your site. i was thinking to charge 3 for a thumbnail, or 5 bucks for short review and thumbnail. want to know what you think of this idea, if it is good, if you would do it, and if you think that is fair or reasonable price to charge, or if i could get a bit more, or if i should offer different options to upgrade a listing. i would appreciate any and all comments. thanks

Dearest GFY members,

I would like to solicit your advice regarding an existing site that I currently maintain. You see, I'm a new webmaster and my site porntubeportal.com is receiving moderate traffic and I'd like to know what I can do to increase the flow of visitors to my site. More importantly, I'd like to know how to properly and efficiently monetize these visitors.

I believe this domain will do well as a directory of tube sites that contains clips that are between 3 minutes and 5 minutes in length as I don't want to support tube sites with full-length scenes. Also, I'd like to create paid spots that I can sell to other webmasters. These ad spots will consist of an image of your site, a text link, and perhaps even a short and favorable review of your site.

Would you, as a tube site owner, pay for such a spot? If so, what do you feel is an appropriate price for such a service? I've conceived of $3.00 for a thunbnail image in your paid spot, and an additional $5.00 for a short review of your site.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration of this matter. I will value your feedback.

Sincerely,

Dan Heil

P.S. I seem to be under the influence of a substance I've opted to leave nameless, and this may account for my poor presentation and grammar. My sincerest apologies if this causes an inconvenience for any of you.

It all started making sense for me right there.

Suggestion #1 is to sober up. This is a business. There is a time for fun and there is a time for business.

When you're working on your site, it means that it is time for business.

When you're asking how to improve your site, it means that it is a time for business.

It's like when a drug dealer does their own stash. Fail. :2 cents:

danheil 07-18-2009 03:53 PM

agreed

was trying to be creative and it was all downhill from there

PornMD 07-18-2009 04:04 PM

Portal is a weak word anymore - its heyday was 10-15 years ago and it's been going down ever since along with terms like cyber, surf and doubleclick.

In other words, your domain kinda sucks and there was a reason why it "didn't exist" before you got it. Sorry.

halfpint 07-18-2009 04:08 PM

There are already tube directorys doing what you are proposing to do, but I guess if you have quality and a decent amount of traffic webmasters/sponsors will pay a hell of a lot more than $5.00 to be listed on a top spot.

Take a look at ovguide.com you will see what I mean and If you type "tube sites" into google, ovguide is the top listing so get your tube directory to this kind of level and you will be laughing all the way to the bank
