Yeah.. that damn Nikon CoolPix 5700. haha! Great camera.. to many bells and gadgets. Something to do with the focus plain on the camera.. It targets an area of great focus then some of the other area blur a bit. I know there is a setting to fix that.. I think its the "Landscape" setting. LOL! It was my first full shoot with this new camera. Thought is did ok.. but what do I know? Thanks for the input so far.

I think its called aperature setting ( or F stop ) ... and yes setting it to landscape would help that ( give it infinity focus, or a very small aperature), but it also changes the perspective of the image, I came across a website that showed some clear examples of this but can't recall it right now.

I believe using a small aperature for a large depth of field give you a "flat" image, where a larger aperature setting will cause some of your image to blur, it will give the image a 3 dimensional feel to it.

For 2-3k get yourself a Fuji S2, a couple of portrait prime lenses ( Nikon AF ) and a good flash with bounce SB50-DX, and read the instructions or buy a Nikon/Fuji guide booklet.

There is also some pretty good book out there for Portrait and Nude photography, break down and read a couple, shit even just looking at what some more experienced photographers do in terms of poses and angles would help alot.

Sorry, that design is horrible. Unless you intended for broken images that overlap each other all over the place that is... :)

Primes are for film purists with no digital experience or people who parrot them without knowing the reason. The only reason to use primes is they have less chromatic distortion near the edges. Not an issue with the S2 because the CCD film plane is smaller then 35mm and crops well short of any possible distortion. On top of that multiple primes means dirt on the CCD and spending time to clean it off, or touch it up in photoshop. Unless they are using medium format no pro-digital photographer I have ever met still uses primes.

The SB50-DX is a good flash but an on camera flash is your worst possible option for shooting content. If you can't afford strobes go for halogens and a white foamcore bounce.

I had actually suggested the primes cause you can get a fast ( F 1.8 or F2.8 ) lense for around $100. Instead of getting a shitty zoom and have to shoot with ISO400+

No, you suggested them because it was something you heard and you didn't know better then to repeat it and let someone else waste their money. You can get a perfectly good fixed aperture 2.8 zoom lens for under $500. None of the factors that distinguish the higher end Nikon glass from Sigma and Tamron even show up on digital images let alone on jpegs compressed for the web. If you can only afford a $100 for glass you should not buy a $2500 camera- makes no sense. You'll get better results from a pro-sumer camera with a fixed lens.

Got pretty good girls and tons of content, but a few bugs yet to work out. We are converting though.. 1-250 almost right on the button since we opened eight months ago. Just started our affiliate also..

You need to resize the images in your preview, for example CrisPageTwo2.JPG has width=121 height=161, but the image is actually 288x384. If you let the browser resize it then it looks spotty or jagged, like it's not properly resampled.

Looks like CrisPageTwo2.JPG was already resized by something else that didn't do a good job (see the copyright notice) - what do you use? I bet the original pic is much better, but you've taken two big quality hits (for that particular pic anyway) on your tour pages...

Yeah.. I see that what I am using to resize and watermark BLOWS ASS! haha! A "friend" of my is a programmer so he did this custom program for me. Bad Idea! Any sugestions? Something that will watermark and resize all in one shoop? I guess I need to resize each photo for my tour area one by one instead of doing one size then resizing it in Frontpage. God.. good shit! Learning more in one day then I have in the last eight months.
Yeah.. the original photos look great.. Hell there off a Nikon Coolpix 5700. 5.0 Mega Pixels baby! The resized ones are fine also, but when I resize the resized in my tour, thats where they get fucked up. I can fix that.
