iphone or palm pre?
I ran over my htc touch, which was cool for a while... turns out I've got a $100 deductible. Fuck it, I'll get a different phone in that case.
So, should I switch to AT&T for the iPhone, or is the Palm Pre cool enough to stick with Sprint and cough up a couple of bucks to get it? |
Get Nokia N97. I like mine ;)
nokia for sure!
I run phones over, the $600 price tag on the Nokia is a little out of my range.
fuck it, bought the palm.
pics or stfu. Google phong is a must to try. But from my experience effing I-Phong is da best and the most exciting toy i have seen so far.
I have had very good luck with Palm products.
The iphone is amazing. Not a single complaint about it.
I love, love my Iphone!
I have had my palm pre for a few weeks and love it.
The best place to keep up with all the new "homebrew" aps and anything you could possibly need to know about the phone you can find at Palmcentral and in there forum |
thanks payton - just found precentral, I'll try palmcentral too. :thumbsup
my buddy has the palm pre and even as an iphone user, it is one slick machine
oops - I meant everythingpre.
iPhone :thumbsup
stick with the iphone for sure! :)
iPhone for sure... it's like asking if you should buy a word processor or a computer :P
Especially when you factor in the amount of apps for the iPhone both business and entertainment :) |
Which ever one reaches the low low price of just $19.95 first
i love my palm treo, and after seeing the features on the Palm Pre I am getting one. They do more then iPhones, and sprints network is so much better then AT&T, i have a few friends with an iPhone and they constantly complain about no service, i have to be in BFE or beyond to lose service with sprint and the download speeds are nuts for a phone.
iPhone 3Gs for sure.
2 way pager's are the best invention yet...
The G1 pounds the shit out of any of the competitors, imho. I also got the 2400mAh (stock one is 1100 I believe) battery for it, which is awesome. With my phone, I:
1. Use the SSH client to connect to servers, networking equipment, etc. I could add a firewall rule while sitting in a coffee shop, login to my IRC screen session to talk to my techs, etc.etc. 2. Use the ServerUp app to receive alerts if any server ever had an issue. 3. REMOTE DESKTOP (you heard me) to my home workstation and check on something there, or access a file I needed. 4. Drive down the road scanning wifi networks and recording their location and GPS coordinates into Google Maps. The list goes on and on, and includes everything most of the other phones do as well. In fact, I even bought myself a pair of Moto ROKR S9 HD bluetooth stereo headphones, loaded a bunch of music to my microSD card, and made it into a defacto iPod. This phone ROCKS! |

#4. no shit? :pimp:pimp |
I still like my blackberry
Ive been debating the same thing. I am still on a palm treo 700p. I have sprint so naturally the pre would be easiest to switch to but I really like the Iphone.

WHY do you people not just buy unlocked iPhones?
As much as I hate Apple, the iPhone is the best handheld device I have ever, err.. held. And it's funny how even Google can't match up to them with their Android OS. Everyone who says they didn't like the iPhone are fuckin liars. Once you use it for like 5 minutes, there's no going back. |
Can I put an unlocked iPhone on Sprint? I haven't researched it for a long time...

Remote Desktop works perfectly, albeit on a smaller resolution. I've managed to actually log in to my home workstation and post a reply in a ticket in our CMS, while sitting on a patio at a bar drinking a beer, lol. :) As for #4 - totally. It's really cool, I just turn on GPS, Wifi, and the program, set the phone on my dashboard and go for a drive. When I get home I save it all to the microsd card and open it up in google maps. It shows me what encryption (if any) they have, what channels they're broadcasting on, the works. I now know of every free wifi access point in my area! |
All you need to know is that Palm always ends up fucking everything up
Never used a palm pre... looks cool as hell though.
iPhone all the way
7 months later, I'm ditching the Palm Pre and picked up an iPhone.
I'm fucking PISSED right now... all of my contacts are locked in my pre and Palm doesn't support exporting them. I have to buya $40 piece of software that will export them to M$, but since the Pre included all of my (thousands of) Google contacts, I'm probably going to crash Office 8 times before getting a corrupted version of my contacts onto my computer. THEN I'll have to figure out how to sync the shit to my iPhone... Note to future viewers - stay the fuck away from the Palm Pre. It's neat, but once the newness wears off... the downsides far outweigh any cool "multi-tasking" features it claims to have. |
nokias have gotten very sucky lately, their screens are made of fucking porcelane and break just by looking at them.
There are better phones on Sprint. Namely the Samsung Moment and HTC Hero.
The Pre is not a good phone. Not at all. And NO, an iPhone can't be used on Sprint regardless of being unlocked or not. |
Blackberry for sure :thumbsup
Got Blackberry and iPhone here. Love the iPhone and hate the Blackberry with a fucking passion.

iPhone for life!

I just ordered my Palm Pixi from Sprint. I just needed a basic smart phone and it seems to fit the bill.
