Getting ready to head to the coast later this week for a few days vacation (yeah although I work during vacation)..

Thought for an easy dinner one night I'd do my bbq pulled-pork sandwiches. This means that today.. I've been slow-cooking bbq pork roast all day so that I can pull it and put it away for finishing later in the week. The house is smelling great.

Everyone in the house is ready to ring my neck cause they want to eat it tonight!

What coast are you head'n too???

not far.. Oregon coast. Renting a place right on the beach for a week.

I live in Washington state. I have a place on the Washington coast ..rent it out by the week more than not.... after a few years with it.. it's not like vacation going there anymore.

Does it pay for itself?

Pulled pork is delicious. Your kids should be thankful they have a mother that is still feeding their adult mouths. ;-)

Thankfully it does.. It was built in 2003. I paid it off fairly quickly. From May to early September it's always booked. From October through April it's sporadic. I pay a company to maintain it, handle the rental and turnover, and I use it when I feel like it in the off season.

and the kids.. they are grateful... usually...and right now.. hungry..

Not like I did the first few years. We used it alot in the first four years. Now it's sporadic.. but it's there and it's makes a few bucks and is an investment.

id wait till u go to sleep and make a couple hehe

only if you're gonna pull it out of the freezer... heat up a skillet and saute up the pulled pork with my bbq sauce.. I slow cook it in the sauce, but the meat isn't finished until it's sauteed in it.

If someone took the trouble to do all that and it didn't wake me up.. they can have it.
