Anyone in NY Tri-State area is able to wire funds to Epass - which bank you use?
 

in reference to my past thread about this issue I've tried to figure out what is the problem of not getting wires through Epass from my bank.

I'm in New Jersey using TB Bank. TD does international wires through Standard Chartered NY being correspondent facility, that's the only way they're sending out international wires.

Epass basically told me that using this correspondent bank is no good and wires won't go through. My bank told me that is the only way and they can't send it through another correspondent bank, at least in my area.

I figured I'd go to another bank open an account there and will send the wire through them.
So I went to the nearest bank, Columbia Bank. Before opening an account there I asked them how do they send out international wires and found out they're using Standard Chartered NY as correspondent as well. I will hit couple of more banks in my area on Monday and I would like to know if anybody in this area is able to wire funds to Epass and what bank do you use?

BTW, lady at Columbia told me that they have switched to Standard Chartered this year for some regulatory reasons. Does it mean that in the future none of US banks will be able to wire money to Epass?

I've loaded through my BOA account before. Don't remember if it was a wire or through my atm visa.

Just wondering do you have Epass biz acct or personal?
Business accounts load only by wire, for this reason I can't even have my account open to receive funds until I wire the initial 100.

Holo do you use TD Bank BusinessDirect online?

i use that for wires online I have sent international wires many times without any issues

strange thing is when I opened the account I asked them about it, they told me no wires online nor by phone and fax, reason given: to prevent fraud. funny thing in a fucked up way is I can't even join my biz and personal accounts for easy transfer between the two.

would be super convenient if I could do all my banking online.

The issue is not limited to US banks, I have had trouble with UK banks also.

I think the problems come when a bank (correspondent) is required between your bank and epassporte's bank. Epassporte have very specific instructions about which information goes in which field and even when you detail this to the letter with your bank, there is no gurantee that some operator at the correspondent bank who has his own procedures that probably work 99% of the time with world bank wires (however not epassporte) will pay any attention to the "special instructions" or however the info is communicated.

The solution as I think you are becoming aware is to deal directly with a bank who can send directly to epassporte's Curacao bank. In your case sounds like you should go directly to Standard Chartered? Cut out the middle man.

There is a lot of money circulating around in epassporte and it gets wired in there somehow. Don't give up, it will be worth it in the long run.
