Namecheap/Enom preventing transfers :(

Whois.enom.com has been buggy/unresponsive for at least 5 days now. The server has been returning incomplete or no whois info at all.

Result: It's now impossible to transfer domains away from Enom/Namecheap to other registrars.

Namecheap knows about this but they are still not convinced that this is something they need to solve.

imho:
1 day of technical problem: ok, shit happens.
2 days of technical problems: ok, shit happens, but damn that's a lot of shit.
3 days of technical problems: ok, shit happens, but might wanna hire someone who knows what he's doing.
4 days of technical problems: WTF guys!
5 days of technical problems: I now seriously doubt this is a 'technical' problem.

I have no comment on this.

That sucks, I use namecheap as my main registrar and Moniker and Godaddy as backups.

yeah, ended up doing that, but the fact remains that namecheap is holding domains hostage. :(

Pretty sure they're not doing it on purpose and I'm sure it'll be fixed in a day or two. Namecheap has always done right by me. :2 cents:

The owner of Namecheap will email you back, have you been in touch with him bro?

CYF 07-09-2009 01:48 PM

Enom's whois appears to be fixed now.

Been in touch with Namecheap, they acknowledge that there's a problem and that they've known about it for "several days" (quote) but not that they need to fix it.
