It was -25 with the wind chill last night here in Winterpeg. It will get colder, believe me......... a month from now it will hit -50 to -70 with the friggin wind chill.

Im from Anchorage, AK and its been so warm that people are water skiing ;) Usually its about 20 this time of year.

I just called my neighbors at my cottage about 10 minutes ago and we're about an hour west of Ottawa near Sharbot Lake to tell them we'll be up Friday morning. They said with the wind chill tonight it'll go below -30 . Terrific people, the wife said she'll light a fire in the stove for us before she goes to work on Friday so the cottage will be toasty when we get there. They also said there's a Santa Claus parade in Perth Saturday night. The kids'll love it. Gotta love small town people, salt of the earth. :)

And yeah, Winnepeg gets fucking cold... Last time I was through there, it was -35 , and I had two little kids with me (My son was almost three at the time and my daughter was 15 months old). Man that was a nightmare.. lugging luggage, kids, etc, and trying not to get frostbite. We were on the bus going to see relatives... man that's a trip I wouldn't soon duplicate.


It's supposed to be -27 around these parts tonight, but as our house is up on the hill, it will be much colder with the wind chill... Unfortunately the forest doesn't shelter us much because it's on the wrong side of the house. *sigh*

I guess it's about -15C (5F) in the montreal area... expecting about -20C (-4F) this night....
