I might be the ONLY person on the planet not watching MJ's memorial service LIVE!!!

Woke up this morning to the sound of helicopters over my house following the Jackson Family to the private memorial...was looking forward to streaming the memorial at the office but the connection sucks and well, Im just hearing tidbits about it from friends who are watching it on TV. *Sigh*

Turns out Ive missed quite a bit including some moving speeches and of course performances by some talented artists including Mariah Carey singing my favorite Jackson 5 song.

So indulge me...what has been the most "touching" moment for you?

flashfire 07-07-2009 12:32 PM

right now they are signing heal the world with his family on stage including his kids...I have something in my eye

Klen 07-07-2009 12:33 PM

CIVMatt 07-07-2009 12:34 PM

Haven't seen a thing, could care less, busy with other things... like chasing Anne around facebook

I'm way too busy :1orglaugh And the best parts will be on all night :winkwink:

OMG Jim 07-07-2009 12:38 PM

Here is a good link from another thread Kristen if you need to look :winkwink:

Oopps.... feed no longer available!

I don't know how many times I told my wife I didn't want to see or hear anything about it :disgust

gocubbiesjess 07-07-2009 12:38 PM

I had to work from home because our offices are downtown LA and they wouldn't let us get there today (so sad for me lol), but was on a conf call most of the morning...managed to catch two acts that were amazing:

1. Mariah Caray
2. Jennifer Hudson
3. We are the World rendition

A lot of silent moments, more so because they didn't have smooth transitions...watch the performances on youtube later.

Back to work for me!

Glad to know I am not the only one with work to do :) Yes I agree, the highlights will be on tonight, tomorrow, and likely the rest of the week!!!!

kristin 07-07-2009 12:39 PM

We're working here at TopBucks today, no MJ stuff going on here.

TurboAngel 07-07-2009 12:40 PM

flashfire 07-07-2009 12:42 PM

yeah, that almost made me cry and Janet really seemed to be motherly to her.

MaDalton 07-07-2009 12:50 PM

nope - not watching it either

C-Luv 07-07-2009 12:52 PM

I am not watching it either.

Sosa 07-07-2009 12:53 PM

I'll be glad when it is all over with to be honest.

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 07-07-2009 12:56 PM

Could care less, the guy had no impact on my life AT ALL... So he's just another dead person to me.

Fletch XXX 07-07-2009 12:57 PM

nope, i havent watched nes on the television in a very long time, and its been years since i watched a television program. I havent seen a single news story about mj. kill your television

you arent the only one who tunes out. i stopped watching television years ago, stuff will destroy your brain more than drugs

Jman 07-07-2009 12:57 PM

Making money and running my sites are more important then watching a memorial on tv imho.

justinsain 07-07-2009 01:02 PM

I grew up listening to MJ and his brothers. I was watching that night they were on the Ed Sulivan Show. I've lived one year longer than him.

I've had mixed feelings about MJ because of the things I've had to speculate on.

After watching today I realized how much he is loved, the impact he's had on people world wide and the many, many ways he has contributed to make it a better place.

When my time comes, I'll slip out the back door unnoticed. Michael Jackson will be remembered forever. For that, he has my respect.

SoftFocus 07-07-2009 01:06 PM

Hey everyone has the right to waste their time as they please. Unlike some others I COULDN'T care less.

Vicious_B 07-07-2009 01:19 PM

Haven't had it on at all today.

Darkland 07-07-2009 01:20 PM

I didn't watch it either, to be honest I didn't care enough to find out when it was. The guy was an awesome artist and did many great things but this media exposure is beyond ridiculous. With all the other IMPORTANT shit going on in the world this should NOT still be top story news for the second week in a row.

I mean how much longer is this stupidity going to continue. You got people seeing ghosts at Neverland, people seeing his image in a tree stump in their yard, etc.

The god damn world has lost its fucking mind.

:2 cents:

2MuchMark 07-07-2009 01:22 PM

Not watching it here either, but I'm sure I'll catch it all on the news later tonight.

fuzebox 07-07-2009 01:25 PM

I didn't even know it was on. Now that I know, I don't care.

:1orglaugh I agree, and thanks for using the phrase correctly :winkwink: A couple people in here care more than they know.

Yngwie 07-07-2009 01:27 PM

I'm not watching or or even knew it was on.. I woke up and straight to work I went. No one will care when I die so why should I watch someone else's memorial shit? No disrespect ti MJ or anything, but I just don't care.

CyberHustler 07-07-2009 01:37 PM

Who died?

Supz 07-07-2009 01:44 PM

Didn't he touch some kids or something?

MetrixApps - Sean 07-07-2009 02:32 PM

aniloscash 07-07-2009 02:33 PM

StuartD 07-07-2009 02:34 PM

I totally forgot about the whole thing until I was waiting at the lawyer's office and browsed to CNN.com on my cell. 4 headlines.... all about MJ.
I then browsed to Facebook.

JP513 07-07-2009 02:37 PM

I like his great songs. But I'm not going to watch it!

Smiley 07-07-2009 02:42 PM

most touching moment for me will be when we are finally done with all this crap...

heres a thought....News should be about the news....a dead guy isnt news, its entertainment and last i looked there are plenty of stations for that....umm...E!...

todhunter 07-07-2009 02:49 PM

I'm going to wait till I get home and then I'm going to ask my wife about it.

Been busy all day here as well. Not working exactly, just "busy"
-- had a workout this morning, visited some of the family all afternoon, just got home from dinner out and am now gearing up for an evening ride on the river trails on my mountain bike.

You know... "busy" :D
