Go out to a restaurant, get wasted, wake up a 3PM, go see a movie, etc.

You will not be able to do these things for quite a while.

My daughter is 20 months old now.

Best thing that ever happened to me. Have fun :thumbsup

1. Have one last 12 hour sleep and one last enjoyable restaurant meal.
2. Start practising waking up every 3 hours.
3. Look forward to having extra purpose and drive in your life!

There will be many sacrifices to your lifestyle, but all worth it in the big picture.

Good luck, hope it all goes well.

Sleep as much as you can until then because you'll be kissing that luxury goodbye for a while. Don't forget, after she has the baby, your wife will still love extra pampering like back rubs and foot massages, especially after or while she's nursing. If she isn't, then be sure to be the one who wakes up for the late night/early morning feedings, that is the best time for uninterrupted bonding.

You're babygirl will never be a brat in her daddy's eyes:2 cents:

Get a paternity test lol

Go to sleep NOW and wake up on Tuesday. You wont have a solid nights sleep for at least 3 weeks.

Rick Diculous 07-02-2009 05:45 PM

Like the others said ! GET SOME SLEEP WHILE YOU CAN!!! and enjoy every moment you have with your baby!! congrats!!

We just had one last Wednesday. Spent a few days at home and now my girl is back in the hospital with an infection. I just got both the baby and my 12 month old down together for the first time in 48 hours.

Get some rest. Though now looking back on things, 1 is a piece of cake.

My advice is... don't look for parental advice on GFY.

There are actually a lot of parents here, and I've seen some good advice posted over the years.

Great advice! When you don't want to wake up...just remember babies have little tummy's and they get hungry within a few hours of each feeding. Then it gets better, they grow and start sleeping all night. Starting at 3 months, thing's get easier and time flies.

also...I did the Viacord deal, I dunno if you plan to have other children... it's storing the babies blood that could save someone else in your family one day.

Congrats!!!:thumbsup

We've lucked out in that department. Both babies slept thru the night (well...up to 6 hours at a time) from day one.

Stock your bar now because from age 10 through 21 is going to be your living hell:helpme

And if you are lucky, your wife and your daughter will make it through those yrs without killing each other while you are stuck in the middle:warning

You guys are the best...I appreciate it! I'm playing online poker for a few hours..not a care in the world. Tomorrow I guess I need to try on those Dad slippers and see how they feel :)

When she is born, it will be amazing. I can't imagine life without my daughter (2 now). Don't miss the early tar-poop phase. Which reminds me, very important (according to my wife) - when she poops, you gotta wipe down (never up or poop will get inside the wrong place and cause problems).

Supz 07-02-2009 08:13 PM

Congratulations! I am the father of two boys, so not much advice to give in the daughter aspect, but it is truly a rewarding experience to say the least.
