I painted a picture, and I would love to share it with you. Feedback welcome {pic}

Painting has always been a passion to me, I hope you guys dig this. Its 24 X 36 inches. I did it about 5 months ago, and I've done quite a few similar to it so far as the subject goes.

I would like to know what you think.:upsidedow
Any feedback is welcome.

Have at it, GFY:)

Carmine Raguso 07-01-2009 05:32 PM

BobG 07-01-2009 05:35 PM

I dig it man. Looks cool.

IllTestYourGirls 07-01-2009 05:36 PM

not bad at all

Eva PSC 07-01-2009 05:39 PM

I like weird paintings. Where you have to stop and think what the hell is it and still walk away puzzled. The nice thing is that the painting will mean different things to each person.

No fun looking at a landscape painting... it maybe a very skilled painter that did a natural looking replica of something, but there isn't much creativity in those.

Contemporary "weird" art is the best

420 07-01-2009 05:44 PM

at first glance its creepy, could be a bloody mirror

then i see romanesque columns in the shape of the top half of the letter K

so i would estimate its value at $500 or $0.5k

selena 07-01-2009 05:46 PM

oooo, I like!

woj 07-01-2009 05:50 PM

That's funny because the first thing I thought of when I looked at the painting was a time I did a shoot with a model and dripped chocolate syrup all down her back and ass to her thighs :)

As for the painting, it's really hard to critique. If it turned out as you had intended it to, you were successful. If you are going for commercial appeal, I'm sure the right interior decorator in the right market could easily find a home for it.

Whatever you do don't stop creating :thumbsup

DefaultMan 07-01-2009 06:15 PM

I'm really digging the first one. Keep up the good work :thumbsup

A lot of the art i've done on the past few years has centered around that subject. A lot of the time i've spent in the past few years has been spent reading peoples accounts of the day. On more then one occasion I have had the oppertunity to speak with William Rodriguez (google him, he has one hell of a story). I've toyed with the idea of writing a book about it also, but I lack the motivation.

The red painting I did long ago when I was in an angry phase, I painted alot of crucifiction pieces back then, always minus Jesus for my own reasons.

tranza 07-02-2009 09:54 AM

I Liked it! Is that oil painting?

I think it should be called "Flood Damage"

Meh... that's what I thought as soon as I saw it anyways.

Nope, acrylic on canvas, with tons of water. almost like working with watercolor, just a bit more thickness to the color. Its a pretty messy process.

Glad you like it, thanks.

PlugRush Sascha 07-02-2009 10:10 AM

Paintings like that always need a story to go with them in my opinion. A lot of people can throw together a painting like that, the meaning behind it is what makes it art.

I'm usually more impressed with artists who do abstract or surreal paintings but also have the skill to paint something lifelike or realistic. I think that's what makes a painter (i.e. Pablo Picasso) special. I think some painters just choose to do abstract paintings because they lack the ability for anything else.

But whatever, keep doing your art.

FlexxAeon 07-02-2009 10:16 AM

i'm not usually into paintings/sculptures & art of the like. and honestly i wasn't really into these paintings either. but i was checking it out anyway and in this one....

I really like the first two. Amazing pieces of work.

Tom_PM 07-02-2009 10:25 AM

It's interesting stuff. Pretty abstract. Reminds me of barn boards or something extreme rustic like that maybe, I dunno.

Zuzana Designs 07-02-2009 10:35 AM

I love them. Do you want me sell any of your work. I love funky art and paints like that. I look for bizarre paintings from local artist and have a little art gallery in my new house. Very nice work!

hypedough 07-02-2009 11:08 AM

Good shit dude, at first I thought I'd be looking at paintings of weed and bongs :winkwink:
