Grand Prix GTP
 

anyone here got one of those? 1999+? any good?

bought one last year for my wife - an 02 grand prix GT something or other, it seems to get her to work and back..........

yeah but i wanna know about the GTP.. the supercharged one...

hey Asuna, I wanted a fast domestic 4 door with some power and I got a 2001 new in Aug. 01. So far I've been very happy. Don't expect it to be a beemer or anything. It's comfy, fast and has nice styling. imho. Go check out
Club GP

The message board there is very active with a few thousand members. Just use the search before you post, every question has been answered a million times. Some guys there have their cars modded almost to a 10 second quarter mile, which is very close to what most sportbike riders can acheive (not pros of course). For $70 you can get a smaller pulley for the supercharger and pick up 25-30hp easy.


I've done intake, some exhaust work and a colder thermostat. I'm probably at around 260hp. It's 240hp, 280torque stock.

i bought a 2002 GT 2 weeks ago, was going to get the GTP but when i started it up, it made an awful noise.

my friend has a stock 99 GTP he just rand a 13.86 quarter, not bad.

Alky, was it a vacuum sucking sick engine sounding noise? What you heard was the EGR valve...exhaust gas recirculation. It sends the exhaust air back through the engine to help it warm up more quickly since most engine wear occurs when it's cold. It goes away after a min or two. If it was a used GTP then I don't know what the problem may have been.

My friend has a GP GT and he doesn't have that sound, or doesn't notice it. The engines between the two cars aren't the same. You can't just slap on a supercharger to the GT engine and call it a GTP.


fuckinA...i'm bored too often, i'm always reading this board my grand prix board and my yamaha r6 board....but i'm never in the dark when it comes to the adult biz, my car or my bike.
