Best Domain Registrar

Need a good mix of price / support.

XXXPaysiteDesign 12-01-2002 08:53 PM

I prefer www.dotster.com

heymatty 12-01-2002 08:56 PM

http://powerpipe.com

call them to test the support

Smith 12-01-2002 09:08 PM

http://www.namecheap.com

L0stMind 12-01-2002 09:12 PM

I second dotster.

easiest to use, used them for years, fairly cheap too.

InsaneMidget 12-01-2002 09:21 PM

www.registerfly.com

I'm in love with them...i'll buy domains just to use them..

X37375787 12-01-2002 09:27 PM

www.directnic.com

I have about 2/3 of my domains with DirectNic and the other third with GoDaddy.

Dreamman010 12-01-2002 09:33 PM

NameCheap.com

NEVER use RegisterFly.com. They stole $20 from me when I sent it to them by paypal. The transaction was completed but was never added to my RegFly account. That was just a test for their honesty. Emailing their financial dept (or whatever it's called) didn't do shit.

Brujah 12-01-2002 09:37 PM

NameCheap
PowerPipe
RegisterFly

All the above resell for the same company. You'll get good prices and great tools like complete dns management, etc.

Spoonie Luv 12-01-2002 10:08 PM

I like godaddy

Dax 12-02-2002 01:28 AM

I use dotster.com and registerfly.com

So far so good...

I am very happy with gordīs domainnamesystems.com ...

andi_germany 12-02-2002 03:44 AM

Also using http://www.domainnamesystems.com/ everything can be changed by browser. Email notifications for expirations. Mass renewal etc. Support answers quickly ( I had one email questions once)

Brujah 12-02-2002 03:52 AM

Not sure what registrars you people have been using, but NameCheap, Registerfly and Powerpipe or any other ENOM registrar also provide;

- renewal emails
- bulk registrations
- free complete dns
- pop3 accounts
- free parking, redirects, websites
- no cost for failed transfers
- reseller system, multi-level

They can be reached by email or by phone. They won't lock your domains unless you want them to. They won't hold them hostage. Transfers in or out are easy, you choose the method you're comfortable with. You can have them auto-renew if you want. They won't try to resell your names when they expire, and you usually have as long as 45 days to reactivate them if by some chance you miss one.

godaddy.com
register.com
names4ever.com

I recently bought 4 domains at Powerpipe. I can't tell you anything about their support really, but my domains were registered pretty fast and you'll be able to change DNS or Contact Info yourself.

Seb.

freeadultcontent 12-02-2002 06:43 AM

Powerpipe is my choice as well, support really rocks.

KRL 12-02-2002 06:46 AM

DirectNIC is the best in my opinion.

They have outstanding domain management interfaces.

been using registerfly.com for some time now... very happy with them.... has all the features for 8.95$

dinkz 12-02-2002 07:31 AM

I put my vote on Powerpipe, been using them for over 2 years now and haven't had a single reason to contact their support...

The domain registration is quick and the domains are cheap, and the domains are easy to manage. I can't even se any reason to try another registrar..
