Jamie Foxx's performance was pretty on point...awesome seeing Travis Barker up there!

Soulja Boy almost ruined one of my favorite songs with a weak performance...BLAH

Beyonce creeps me out...

lil wayne and birdman seemed coked out of it

Ditosta 06-29-2009 05:31 AM

They had 3 days to prepare for this and I think that they blew it!! very amateurish, We did not even hear who was nominated we only got the winners!! Alot of the old timers who performed seemed very off key and unrehearsed Opening act New Edition with a fat bobby brown!, Guy and Aaron Hall, Keith Sweat was horrible and the list goes on!!!

tranza 06-29-2009 06:34 AM

You're right, I havent watched to it at all...

Si 06-29-2009 06:41 AM

I'm going to say one thing and by all means is nothing racist on my behalf but an observation.

If they can host "the black entertainment awards" or whatever it's called, I'd like to see someone do a "white entertainment awards" show and see what the media have to say about that.

never happen . everybody hates white people, they will cry and have their way to have it removed just like they do with everything now :2 cents:

KBoogie 06-29-2009 03:28 PM

I watched the whole thing too, Kristen. Before Michael's untimely death, didn't everyone performing have something completely different to wear and perform planned for that night?

I personally felt considering they all had to redo their entire acts that it went extremely well...basically the entire show was redone in a matter of what, two days???

A lot of them were winging it, having a whole different show originally planned. Kudo's to everyone for that and Janet's speach made me quietly cry for like 15 minutes for a huge loss to those who do and do not want to acknowledge it.

:2 cents:

BradM 06-29-2009 03:36 PM

No. I am white and have zero interest in that culture. Besides, I can't understand what half of them say.

Pornwolf 06-29-2009 03:42 PM

Real classy Brad.

That would have to be on the W.E.T. Entertainment network which doesn't and will never exist.

Cool, me too. Keep bumping it so they can.

I want everyone to know that I don't like rap and half the time when a black guy talks the slang and accent is so huge I can't understand what they are trying to say.

Clearly that is a bad thing to some people. Although I am confused as to why.

Why is or isn't this classy? I don't get it. I am just pointing out I am not a fan of rap and I find thick accents mixed with slang hard to understand.

The BET awards are not all filled with rap... there's other catagories, but thanks again for making a general statement and trying to clear yourself :2 cents:

I'm not clearing anything at all. I guess I am just as clueless as MOST white people are about black culture. I thought it was basically like the MTV awards. I may have thought otherwise if I had seen ads on mainstream channels of things I watch. However I saw none. No mentions in the channels I watch, online or TV or print. So I guess it's an exclusive club.

So not only do I not understand it, but blacks make sure I can't find out and then label me as a racist when I have a mixed idea of what the awards are.

Nice, I guess you're racist towards me. Good to know, you racist.

They are called the country music awards. There's 1000x more white people on and involved in the Black Entertainment Awards than there are black people involved with the Country Awards.

Black Entertainment is much more integrated in general than say Country Music or general television like NBC. Black/Urban entertainement is called that because of it's historical separation by white people from the general popular music and other media categories. This started with "Race" music back in the 50's, and continued on to this day with Urban... which is usually the same thing as pop which makes a lot of black people wonder why they still have to be classified separately.

So, don't take the Black Entertainment Television name as an affront to white people, because there's just as many white people involved in it and watching it as there are black people. Blame the racist elders that made it the norm to separate black media from the rest of the population with redundant categories.

After seeing Jamie F**** for the racist he is, I refuse to watch anything with him in it. It's amazing how bashing white people is part of the accepted "black culture."
