**BET Awards: Anyone else watch 'em?!?!**
Im sure most of you didnt...but I did :)
How did Lebron win athlete of the year? Jamie Foxx's performance was pretty on point...awesome seeing Travis Barker up there! Soulja Boy almost ruined one of my favorite songs with a weak performance...BLAH Beyonce creeps me out... Watching one of my gf's perform right now...she's a dancer. Well, its an interesting show...the MJ tributes have been creative...time to go to bed, bootcamp at 5:00am :Oh crap |
I know this will come as a shock to you but yes I am watching. A pretty good show so far and yes the soulja boy only version of turn my swag on blows!

1a- no one else was as good as him last year, for the most part. 2q- Jamie doin a tribute to MJ....wow...we didnt see that comin....not at the BET awards. |
lil wayne and birdman seemed coked out of it
|
They had 3 days to prepare for this and I think that they blew it!! very amateurish, We did not even hear who was nominated we only got the winners!! Alot of the old timers who performed seemed very off key and unrehearsed Opening act New Edition with a fat bobby brown!, Guy and Aaron Hall, Keith Sweat was horrible and the list goes on!!!
|
You're right, I havent watched to it at all...
|
I'm going to say one thing and by all means is nothing racist on my behalf but an observation.
If they can host "the black entertainment awards" or whatever it's called, I'd like to see someone do a "white entertainment awards" show and see what the media have to say about that. |

You watched the B.E.T. awards?
I think I love you Kristen. Hollywood is not far away. Holla! |

I watched the whole thing too, Kristen. Before Michael's untimely death, didn't everyone performing have something completely different to wear and perform planned for that night?
I personally felt considering they all had to redo their entire acts that it went extremely well...basically the entire show was redone in a matter of what, two days??? A lot of them were winging it, having a whole different show originally planned. Kudo's to everyone for that and Janet's speach made me quietly cry for like 15 minutes for a huge loss to those who do and do not want to acknowledge it. :2 cents: |
No. I am white and have zero interest in that culture. Besides, I can't understand what half of them say.

Real classy Brad.

I want everyone to know that I don't like rap and half the time when a black guy talks the slang and accent is so huge I can't understand what they are trying to say. Clearly that is a bad thing to some people. Although I am confused as to why. |

So not only do I not understand it, but blacks make sure I can't find out and then label me as a racist when I have a mixed idea of what the awards are. Nice, I guess you're racist towards me. Good to know, you racist. |

They are called the country music awards. There's 1000x more white people on and involved in the Black Entertainment Awards than there are black people involved with the Country Awards. Black Entertainment is much more integrated in general than say Country Music or general television like NBC. Black/Urban entertainement is called that because of it's historical separation by white people from the general popular music and other media categories. This started with "Race" music back in the 50's, and continued on to this day with Urban... which is usually the same thing as pop which makes a lot of black people wonder why they still have to be classified separately. So, don't take the Black Entertainment Television name as an affront to white people, because there's just as many white people involved in it and watching it as there are black people. Blame the racist elders that made it the norm to separate black media from the rest of the population with redundant categories. |

After seeing Jamie F**** for the racist he is, I refuse to watch anything with him in it. It's amazing how bashing white people is part of the accepted "black culture."
