One thing is for sure, I highly doubt there will be another artist who has (or ever will) accomplished (good or bad) as much as MJ.

He was a great singer and dancer and I enjoyed his music when he was at the top. May he rest in peace ... :( A true music legend!

I absolutely do not get the hype. No one I have known has been "into" MJ.

Like the thriller video? Ok, cute but who fucking cares? He was a fluke, really. I think we should examine the reason why he was so popular, as far as I'm concerned it was for all the wrong reasons, with music being a distant third to weirdness, and flamboyant dancing.

The same thing happens when any public figure dies. People with no lives and no minds of their own suddenly descend into this mass hysteria all trying to out-do each other with their tributes. There was a girl on the news crying and saying she didn't know who to trust.

It was the same when Diana died. This country was crippled by sheep all desperate to find someone whose grief didn't stand up to scrutiny. Then, on the other side, you have celebrities all fighting for face time to deliver ever more sickeningly empty platitudes.
