Question about using 'self pics' or any other unauthorized pictures...

Okay I'm going to use these two websites as examples teencleavage.com and wedgiegirls.com. I'm not a webmaster but I was curious at whether or not there have ever been any legal repercussions from anyone about taking sexy pics from everyday facebook, myspace, etc girls and having them on your website without permission?

BradM 06-24-2009 03:29 PM

You are free to use these.

Prodigee 06-24-2009 03:40 PM

But what if you are not sure of their age? (how can you really be sure)

Like are cleavage pics of a 17 year old going to land you in the clink?

BradM 06-24-2009 03:40 PM

No not at all. If you are unsure how old they are, you just say you didn't know. There's no way to prove it either way.

DMCA for the win.

Ya, if you just put up fake address info there's nothing anyone can do anyway. DMCA are completely invalid and mean nothing to someone that doesn't legally exist.

Why not purchase (legal) teen content instead?

BradM 06-24-2009 03:53 PM

shejailbait.com is a great source of fresh content also

Don't listen to idiots here.. if you have a legal question ask a lawyer and no you can't use picture you do not own the rights to.

This is just a scare tactic. He probably owns a competing site and doesn't want you to break his niche.

If they were buying they would not be asking this here IMO :winkwink:
But many people have the right intentions but lack in legal knowledge and experience.
That's why we are all here on boards to bring young ambition & old school experience together so it could make a 1+1=3 synergy happen.

Old school experience is what prompted me to suggest they consider purchasing legal content. :winkwink:

I had my doubts whether the newbie picked up on BradM's humour/sarcasm.

Thanks for the reply. I am a newbie and with that title will always come a few dumb questions. No avoiding it. I was just curious because I have found many sites plastered with them so it left me to wonder.

Thank you.

Steve

"Is it Legal?" and "will I get away with it?" are two different questions. Of course if you have no rights to them, you can't use them, and of course plenty of douchebags do it and get away with it.

the internet is full of people breaking the law and stealing, just because you can find many sites doing something doesn't mean anything, especially if you live in the U.S. and all of the sudden find yourself in court or in trouble with the law, they don't care about the other "many sites" doing it at that point, they only care about your site :2 cents:

It was not sarcasm at all for me when I was typing.
It was however a hint towards the good side of the bizz.
Everybody is free to choose their own path: slow but legal or the quick way.
(one grows slowly but steadily, the other does not last forever)
