35mm porn, why isn't there more of it?
 

Rarely do you see production value go as high as including 35mm porn,

I believe I've seen some from Playboy, Vivid, and Digital Playground.

Not even sure if they are using 35mm, or 24p with good filters. Regardless, their stuff looks great.

All I know, is some top shelf concepts could be put to good use.. something like "The Million Dollar Blowjob" and have all scenes with 35mm and proper lighting.

You could find ways to keep production costs somewhat the same.

Or has someone already done this?

The cost of shooting that kind of stuff is really high compared to just using a digital video camera. If you have known people in it and can put a ton of money marketing it you can do well with it like the Pirates movies by Vivid. However, in the real world you would spend half your time just trying to keep it off the tube and torrent sites and it would be pretty difficult to make your money back on it.

The other day I was listening to Howard Stern and he had on a pornstar (I forget her name) and she was saying how about 3 years ago she was getting anywhere from $1500-$3000 a scene and now she gets around $800-$1000 and all the producers tell her there is just too much free porn and their profits are too low to pay her any more.

It was pretty interesting.

35MM ??? In this day and age??? That would be retarded...even back when most TV shows and such were shot on super 16 and even aminstream movies were shot on super16 and posted to 35

and even that wouldnt be cost effective now...do you have a clue what is required to post 35MM film?

Most companies shoot on HD and give it a film look by posting it to 24P DP in particular shoots Red cams at 16MP (4kx4k) way better outcome than trying to to post 35MM
