i found out exactly what went down. basically all the upper management and sales people kept "paying themselves forward" is how i was told. they would keep all your money up front to put in their own pockets first then they thought they could "pay the webmasters next month" but they kept doing it month after month. sure they had their cars and huge houses. one guy who came back told me he was in sales and made like $25,000 a month for a few months straight and he bought not only himself but his mom a house too! and thats just a sales guy. God only know how much upper management was putting in their pockets.
So basically it all snowballed after a few years of paying themselves first and then its like "oops, we dont have any money left for our actual clients because we all put it in our pockets". Its nothing but total greed and robbery. I cant believe they got away with it actually. Its no different than robbing a bank. You webmasters probably already know this whole story though.

I can only speak from my own experiences, but the people I know who use SegPay for substantial amounts have never had any issues with them. From the people I know at their company, none of them were with IBill either...not to mention just because they worked for IBill doesn't mean they had a say in what went down there; some of the IBill guys were good people. :2 cents:

Have to agree with DK, sounds like a pissed off employee who probably got fired for not doing his job.

It's all about who gets paid and when. Don't put all your eggs in a new basket. Use an established processor who you can have close contact with, or give the other guy a chance.
It is up to you, if you are worried the choice is very easy.

There are post going back years about Smegpay and how some of the management of IBalls started up Smegpay. If you are getting paid good for you, lets hope it lasts.

You also might want to read the threads about how Smegpay was caught processing for tube sites, full of GFY members content. That thread is still on the first or second page of GFY. They say its not their responsibility to check the ownership of each sites content ? Funny how CCbill manages to stay clear of Tube sites ?

My advice would be never ever process with any company that was in anyway associated with IBILL no matter how many or few of their employees used to work for IBILL. Remember the apple never falls far from the tree and when you have first class processors like CCBILL and Epoch who need to take the risk ? :Oh crap
