Yeah, it was pretty warm. In retrospect I think he would put it on anyway.

Yeah I hear you. It doesn't get anywhere near as hot up here, or for near as long, but I mostly try to wear a leather jacket and gloves when I ride. The exception being the hottest of days and if I'm just piddling around town.

Oh well. I believe you said he was a new rider. We all know it's not a matter of if you'll lay a bike down, it's when. Good learning lesson that he seems to have escaped from with minimal injuries. Certainly could have been much worse.

So what happened? The bike and rider look in pretty good shape so I'm going to guess low speed. Looks like the side of the freeway. Lock up the back brakes in traffic? Rear ended by a car at low speed? Road debris?

Is that your life plan?

Not really sure as I was in front of him at the time. He said he was attempting to change lanes when something (he does not know what) got it the way causing him to go down on one side then flipped to the other.

A lady came back and said a car clipped him and kept going. They got the info of the other vehicle, so we will have to do some investigating. CHP seemed to think he may have hit one of those Bott's dots wrong. A fluke.

It was fairly low speed, 50-55.

If he is lucky.

What was funny was I had invited him a few days ago to join us on a ride this Sunday, but he had plans. Apparently they got delayed and he happened to show up at our destination for the day.

I'm glad he is okay.

At least you idiots are wearing helmets (even though your face is completely fucked if you land the wrong way with the kinds of helmets you're wearing), but if you're going to wear fucking jeans and a t-shirt while you're riding I personally think you deserve road rash all over your body and jeans melted into your skin as a lesson. He probably wouldn't have any wounds if he was wearing proper gear to ride.

I have been riding motorcycles for 40 years and have never met anyone that landed on their face. You must be pretty uncoordinated.

My son just called. He is a little sore, but will be fine.

We will go to a motorcycle swap meet on Sunday to pick up a couple parts and get him back on the road.
