What if google bans wordpress?
Would you cry?
They won't. They might however ban wordpress users that are trading links / selling links and other crap they specifically tell you pisses them off.
Don't think it will ever happen but sure, I'll cry with you
Found this pic using google, it is from a wordpress blog.

Yea goodluck with that. Spampress perhaps.
See what I'm getting at though, THEY CAN'T. It is too powerful, pretty fucking cool I think.
ST powered tgps didn't get "banned" they got "penalized", huge difference...
wordpress give me tingling balls.
If Google bans my blogs, i'll ban them too and use Bing instead.

Penalty instead of ban would piss off millions of people too. |
what if jesus drives a ufo.

I think Nicolas Cage was able to foresee the penalization of ST in that movie called "knowing" ..... in the end we all died ....... yes, that also includes wordpress blogs

They wont. Why would they?

scripts that generate content and linkfarms are a big difference from a blogging platform I'm sure they are always eager to penalize splogs that use wordpress though, or other "feedwordpress" plugins and other rss fed machine generated content.... would never be surprised to see that kind of stuff penalized or banned or anything that looks like those kinds of sites google has a lot more work to do in banning/penalizing, do some lyric searches and see all the crappy scraper machine fed sites that are ranking.... do some famous celebrity model name searches and see all the crappy scraper machine fed sites that are ranking... that should be on google's agenda to zap out of the search results |
d-null I agree with a lot of your posts but the first statement you make: "it has nothing to do with being "powerful" or "cool"
I think it is cool that wordpress has enough of a following to make a base install untouchable. Just talking scripts here, it is a good solid platform. |
Weird question :)

ST's work isn't so much built to make beautiful, content rich sites, but to generate traffic and make sales. 2 complete differant models. |
they will never ban it.

i wouldn't cry, i'd be on the lien to my ph guy, having that shit rewritten to remove all traceable footprints asap. end of story.
they won't ban WP. too big of a platform and blogging engine to blog. Surpasses blogger on so many fronts. Ban all the BS blogs about nothing and then thats a start.
yeah.. matt cutts is giving wordpress optimization tips... right before they ban wordpress.

i think they'll whack auto-blogs before legit blogs
it will fuck google ova
I hope that will not happen
If Google banned Wordpress then there would be a lot less worthless junk clogging up the SERPs and Goggle would be a better search engine. That does not mean it will happen though.
WordPress really does need to be penalized. It has pretty much become the 2009 equivalent of FrontPage 1999. It is the tool of choice for the non-developer types. They are even using it as a template system for sites that aren't even blogs.
So yeah, I say WordPress sites shouldn't be on the first 5 pages unless they have a certain PR. |
