Need an SEO guru to unfuck some stuff
 

It appears that one of my sites has been heavily penalized by google. I'm not doing anything dirty on that site so I was rather surprised when it happened. If anyone one has experience rectifying this situation I would certainly hire them for their help.

What date did it happen? We have a site that had a sharp drop around the 27th of May.

Before doing anything, I'd wait a week.

If you haven't done any obvious sillies like linking a whole bunch of sites together on the same host, spamming forums to high heaven etc, then it should easily be recoverable.

Does it show when you type in the domain name including .com etc in google and search?

Whats the domain and how do you know you're being penalized?

june 1st i noticed changes... I also went to outerspace on a site and I still can't find it. First time in over 2 years

I'd wait it out a bit longer. I've had sites move around and then come back a few weeks later.

yes if u search for domain.com in google it does appear. But it went from HUGE SE traffic to practically nothing overnight. So its a major fucking penalty.

It happened today. I'm hoping the traffic will come back, but it looks pretty doubtful. I haven't been doing anything dirty with google at all. The only possible reasons i see are:

Google appears to also have restructured some of the search results. Some stuff that used to goto porn appear to be all mainstream non-porn sites now. Not sure how this is related. If somebody who is a real genius contacts me I can certainly pay for the consultation.

No its not. Google changes their algorithm very frequently. Just because you're not ranking well doesn't mean you're being penalized.

agree with WG, and it could also be a long term thing where your site fell into a google change of algorithm, it is one of the hazards of free traffic from google, there are no guarantees

What did you backlink map look like before? Anything change with your backlinks or on your site?

I know how stressful this can be man..look closely at your stats for the next few days..

I'd de-link immediately.

Leave those. If de-linking from the crud doesn't work within a couple of weeks, it's likely that you're linking in to a bad neighbourhood. If that's the case, remove those links too.

If it has only just happened I would seriously leave it a week or so.

I had a site ranking in the top 5 for about 20 different terms suddenly disappear, came back a week later. Turns out some prick had copied my entire site, and it was going through a review process at google.

Don't link to shitty sites, and don't buy links.

Naturally this is all said without looking at the url,but from the info given, its the most likely.

There have been some odd changes this weak for other sites as well. I am also seeing some older sites getting back to top positions. I dont know if it a new google trend or a glitch to a previous version but what I am saying is is that it might very well be independent of anything you did lately.
Doing an seo analysis is always good but even without that you might just bounce back in a couple of days.

I'm not going to go into specific numbers but it went from xxx,xxx SE traffic to x,xxx traffic. That is one hell of a fucking algorithm change. If i'm not being penalized I sure as hell feel like i'm getting fucked. I'm crossing my figures on this one because this is brutal. At least Teen Cash stuff is doing good. According to site:domain.com there is over 100 pages indexed.

I started a thread earlier this month about this very thing... google def. changed their algorithm and if it comes back is yet to be seen.

Also i'm seeing one of brazzers sites that i trade with are just straight banned from google. Pretty strange as i really don't see anything fishy there and they have several highly google ranked sites.

banned and knocked of rankings are 2 diff. things... did you get penalized or just sent off the rankings? did brazzers get booted?

if you didn't do anything fishy and suspicious you don't have to worry about being penalized or banned. Google updates its data very often these days, so such behaviours are expected. However, everything recovers after awhile. (Unless there are some really great new sites that took over your positions, which is less likely to be).
