[WARNING] Namecheap threat for adult domains

Hi. I found serious problem with Namecheap.com .

I was checking my domain parking stats and I've seen huge drop in CTR and RPM of adult domains.

My RPM at Parked.com and Namedrive was much lower then trafficholder.com 3$/milenia

So I've forwared one domain registered at Namecheap to Trafficholder.

And something bad had happed. Namecheap have BLOCKED my traffic due to some spam listing.

$5 submissions 06-17-2009 01:56 PM

Oh no... Did you try contacting them?

halfpint 06-17-2009 01:57 PM

mmm thats weird Iv never had any probs with adult domains and namecheap been with them for over 2 years now

zabijaq 06-17-2009 02:03 PM

I can't quote :(

So:

$5 submissions: I've contacted Trafficholder as they are banned at Namecheap

Halfpint: Try to forward domain to Trafficholder.

The main problem is some crap spamfilter.
Problem is somewhere else -> at Namecheap.
WTF do they use spam filter, I can only guess Trafficholder isn't only site blocked by accident.
Where do they find right to block my traffic? I have my domain with TYPO traffic and I just want to push that traffic to TRholder.
I really don't want to send TYPO domains to my hosting and redirect it there. With those miliseconds, I lose some traffic and also I spend some server resources.

Pleasurepays 06-17-2009 02:03 PM

your domains are not yours. all you need to do is read the TOS of ANY registrar to understand that.

at the end of the day, you have to decide who might fuck with your domains and who won't.

Klen 06-17-2009 02:12 PM

Speaking about namecheap, why do i get message
Unable to complete request!
Domain name not found
when i try to edit my domain name.

zabijaq 06-17-2009 02:21 PM

Pleasurepays: Yup, but it doesn't make sense to block traffic to Trafficholder.

KlenTelaris: Management problems are quite common at namecheap

brassmonkey 06-17-2009 02:25 PM

never had a prob

I did not know that, Have you at least tried to talk to someone from namecheap you never know they might just sort it out for you. Its at least worth a go if nothing else

u-Bob 06-17-2009 02:26 PM

I'm pretty sure redirecting an entire domain to trafficholder is against trafficholder's TOS.

V_RocKs 06-17-2009 02:36 PM

That shit sux

u-Bob 06-17-2009 02:40 PM

http://namecheap.simplekb.com/kb.sho...&articleid=312

(it's not uncommon for redirect services to use surbl.org)

zabijaq 06-17-2009 02:51 PM

U-bob: I know you don't like me. Domain is megaorn.com, it's TYPO domain to megaporn.com, so it has 100% adult multiniche traffic.

Si 06-17-2009 02:54 PM

obviously the problem is traffic holder and not namecheap.

Namecheap are probably one of the best for adult and there must be a reason for them to be blocking traffic holder.

It makes no difference whether you redirect the domain yourself or with namecheap, if you have a good host it will likely actually be faster than namecheap redirect service.... :2 cents:

Mr. Billy 06-17-2009 03:41 PM

I use Name Cheap and I have had no problems with them. I do know that, in the past at least, you would not want to let any domains go past the expiration date if you wanted to keep them. But they send reminder notices, and if you have them set for auto renew, you don't have anything to worry about.

Their customer service is good and they have pretty fast response times if you have any problems or questions about your domains.

You should contact them if you are having difficulty with a domain account.

zabijaq 06-17-2009 04:02 PM

mobilefun1987: Namecheap is average domain registrar with average prices, weak marketplace, glitchy user management.
Trafficholder is superior traffic broker.

Mr. Billy: I've contacted Trafficholder to solve it with Namecheap. I'm not the one banned.

Mr. Billy 06-17-2009 04:10 PM

Ahhhh. Good for you. I hope you get the problem solved or receive a suitable explanation soon.

bad stuff

zabijaq 06-17-2009 05:13 PM

Billy, I don't car much as that tested domain got superlow 60-80 UIP/s so I'm losing pennies.

But imagine that you buy some superb domain for 2000$ and you want to create really succesful TGP site. What you need for beginning is to buy huge amount of traffic and then rotate it by manual trades or broker. But there still might be problem round namecheap + trafficholder.

In some cases, this could be really bad that's why I've put this warning.

HomerSimpson 06-17-2009 05:26 PM

namecheap probably wont redirect traffic using their dns
so setup a custom dns and manage it your self... don't bitch about it...

case closed...

Domain registration and url redirection are completely different services...

domains name registration = just about anything is allowed
url redirection = very similar to a hosting account, separate and more restrictive terms + conditions :2 cents:

woj 06-17-2009 05:28 PM

It's almost like buying namecheap hosting, and bitching that your account gets suspended for hosting porn on it... :2 cents:

AAB 06-17-2009 05:44 PM

Why don't you move your domain out of namecheap right away? It's dumb to go with namecheap in the first place, but to stay despite all this would be dumber.

zabijaq 06-17-2009 06:17 PM

Damn. It's 0,2$-0,5$/day TYPO (mistyped to megaporn.com) domain. I don't care.

I'm just pointing out what can happen with Namecheap & Trafficholder (and who know how many incorrectly spam marked sites)

DaddyHalbucks 06-17-2009 07:27 PM

I don't have such problems.

I use these guys:

http://www.moniker.com

:)

zabijaq 06-18-2009 02:10 AM

Moniker is great, but their support is getting weaker and weaker (still much better then Godaddys). I usually use Godaddy cause I play with expired domain name auction ;) and I want to make money for Bob Parsons :D as he's just cool dude.

JanuarySeraph 06-18-2009 02:22 AM

Thanks for the heads up!

420 06-18-2009 02:39 AM

There are other sites that namecheap gives that warning for. Forward one of your namecheap domains to xxxblackbook and you will see the same message.

l0lf4c3 06-18-2009 02:54 AM

nothing compares to namecheap out there.

my 2 cents

mrshine 06-18-2009 03:03 AM

I use namecheap for 4 years and i never have any problems!

zabijaq 06-18-2009 03:11 AM

To 420: So Loadedcash is too spammy :) or Crapcheap uses unknown lame spamfilter - some crap surbl.org with ugly 1996 website, they show how they can keep in touch with evolution
