PS2 or X?box??
Which is best?
I'd like to know which system kicks the most ass before I invest my money. Any good game suggestions? I've heard HALO is the shit. |
ive got both, id probably go with the xbox
|
Xbox :thumbsup
|
Gamecube.
You have to play Metroid Prime to believe it. |
Gamecube is for infants.
XBOX only thing that M$ does right. Play Mechassault...live with voice chat... in fact VOICE chat is the killer app...im already runnning advertisements on it.. |
PS2 ... xbox users are still hanging on to the pre-release reviews of xbox, trying to make it seem like its better than ps2. hell naw.
|
Definitely PS2.
|
I have a PS2 and my friend has a xbox. I'm gonna buy one very soon! Go with the XBOX!
|
If you have all day to play games, go buy the ps2 and the 1000's of games... otherwise stick with the best.
|
Well the Xbox has a harddrive and the load times a shitload faster than PS2, I remember some PS2 games were SO FUCKING SLOW to load inbetween scenes or if you started something and wanted to go back you had to wait 40 secs while it went back. Xbox is much faster and the games seem very very polished. I mean it all makes sence just like photoshop, its well thought out and some of the games are very good.
Xbox needs some super racing games to bring everyone onto it. I mean I'd rather have 20 very good quality x box games worth playing than 1000 PS2 bullshit games that are just made so people will buy them take them home and go "oh fuck this game is so shit its not worth playing" I mean 99.5% of PS1 games weren't worth playing, only like 6 games on the PS1 were any good and the rest were just for pumping kids out of money with bullshit games. Microsoft will rule unless Sony gets a faster PS3 and a harddrive in there next console. When was the last time Microsoft lost? Sammy |
good question
|
XBox
:thumbsup |
looks like X?box? is the winner.

If you are into 80's and gaming violence then GTA: Vice City PS2 is a reason worth buying PS2. I mean in what other video game can you jack a car, run from the cops, and then stop to pummel the hell out of innocent pedestrians -- or run over them DR 2000 style -- that get in the way of you running away from the cops (while cranking up Judas Priest: You Got Another Thing Comin')?
http://www.scriptschool.com/store/vi...merss1_BIG.jpg Everquest Online Adventures (beta 2 right now) is looking -- and playing -- pretty sweet for PS2. It will come with a monthly subscrip fee, though, and the word on XBox live so far is all their games will be across M$ servers so no 3rd party fees mo yet, so that's something to keep in mind. Also, XBOX controller is a bit, er, awkward and their library of good games is a lot smaller than PS2. However, the hard drive as mentioned is nice and you can burn all kinds of CDs and listen to those while playing many games. Gamecube lost Rare to M$ which will tip the scales more in XBox favor when Rare starts cranking out some titles for M$ because they are an awesome developer. |
PS2 is the natural choice... real quality
|
HALO 2 is a really good game though
|
Nintendo should take the smart route that all the old big boys have taken when their time was up..
SEGA, and ATARI both went and just made games. I say Nintendo is on it's way to do that too. The only two big bad boys will be Microsoft and Sony. I'm pretty sure PS3 will beat the snot out of the shit Microsoft is whipping up, pretty much because they hadn't really known what Gates was making when they came out with PS2. Now they know, and from what i heard PS3 would be worth buying just to play GTA 5. |
btw-
im sure we can all agree gamecube sucks balls. |
I am very happy with my PS2. I don't think I want to give Microsoft my business when I can help it anyhow.
|
I have both and xbox kicks ass for sure. Check out www.gamedorks.com

My 7 year old is sick of his Nintendo 64 and now wants to get XBox or PS2. I've seen both at friends houses and I think PS2 seems to be more popular, but XBox is closing in fast.
I asked my son which he prefers and he said he likes the games on PS2. I guess if you can afford it, I'd go with both. That solves the decision making problem. Then see which you use the most and toss the other on EBay. |

You are absolutely right. The PS2 is a great gaming console, and they have a ton more games out for it. After all, it was out for a lot longer than the Xbox (2 years?). Anyhow, the XBox has more power under the hood. The PS2 claims to have surround sound - and it does, only on the game intros. The XBox is the only console to have true Dolby Digital Surround Sound. PS2 owners are very quick to defend their console without looking at the facts - or even playing both units. The simple fact is that PS2 owners have a very good reason to be afraid and insecure. :glugglug |
Not that democracy beats a few good reviews, but maybe you should have made a poll?
|
played xbox and ps2... grand turismo 3 rocks on ps2, hunter racoon rocks on xbox... they both good :Graucho
|
Xbox, unless you like GT a lot. Even then Sega GT is not bad, but not as good as GT3.
|
I got an xbox last week. A good thing about xbox is it comes with 2 free games. I Got Halo yesterday and am loving it so far.
|
yeah but can't you play PS2 online? I was about to buy one for myself as a Christmas gift..But if Xbox is better, I'll go with that if I can hook it up to play online
|
i left the video game world at the end of the 32 bit era.
Is it easy to copy games for the PS2 and XBox? Or do u have to buy some kind of hardware to do it? If so, how much? Also, are prices online better for games than in stores? |
BVF, you can play both online now. Microsoft has set up their own network, which is broadband only. (Xbox live)
Sony is leaving it up to the game developers to provide online support for their own games. |
as hardware xbos is better, but ps2 has more and better games
btw can somebody recommend me a good mod chip for my ps2 there are tons out there and I don'y know which ones are good |
That's one thing to remember, if you want to play Xbox live, don't mod your Xbox.
They are banning anyone with a modded Xbox from their network to prevent cheating. I guess they can automatically detect if you've made any internal changes to your console. |
I've got all three of the new-gen systems (2 PS2, 1 XBox and 1 GC), and I'd have to say that I play the PS2 most of the time. GTA:Vice City and Socom:Navy Seals take up a lot of my game playing time.
All have a lot of great games coming out in the next year. Halo 2 looks like the one to beat. Neither PS2 or GC have anything lined up that can compete with that. They don't really have anything to compete with the existing Halo...although Socom and Metroid are a lot of fun. PS3 is a good 3-4 years off...so XBox is safe for the time being. But I won't ever count M$ out of anything. They're probably already working on their Next-Gen system as well. Nintendo is far from over...but it's not a "hardcore gamer's" system. I remember reading somewhere that Nintendo is the largest entertainment company in the world. In Japan, everyone has something from the big N. |

I have PS2 and XBox (won the XBox from GFY)... but PS2 is definitely better because it has way more games.
The only good game XBox has that PS2 doesn't is HALO. |
XBox.
Get it. get mech assault. Get Live. Go Online. play for hours. watch productivity shoot to shit. |

People are already finding ways around this and if you get a mod chip with a built in switch (Matrix) it is just a matter of turning it off and letting the M$ bios load to get live to work... I vote for the xbox as the better system, but I am picking up a modded PS2 anyway cause I hate to be limited :winkwink: |

If you wanna play the Xbox..take may advice and lose that bulky ass controller they give you and get something a bit more sleek and ergo.
As for now, some of the racing games aren't on the Xbox and that is why I like my PS2. To this day, I've not seen a racing/driving game on any system (PS1/PS2/XBox/Nintendo/Sega/) that can compare to GT3. (IMHO that is!:)) And unless you can play DVD's on the Xbox, which I must say I've not checked and no one that I Know has an Xbox, I'd still go w/the PS2, as it's more functional. I've got two friends who used to game test for EA and they have played both the PS2 and Xbox and from their point of view, Xbox is close but until the # of games that are made for both systems is more equally based, they'll stick w/the PS2. (As for slowness when loading games, I've not noticed anything blatantly slow when playing my games) Tek |
GTA Vice City, and Halo. You're going to need both systems.
