Ramen Soup diet...

Could a person lose weight on Ramen Soup alone?

Debate going on....between a friend and I.

If they are using more calories than they are taking in, then yes. You could eat nothing but raw hamburger meat and sugarcubes and still lose weight.

rock-reed 06-16-2009 07:51 PM

I tried the raw-meat and sugar cube diet--I couldn't stick to it very long.

I doubt it, but losing weight isn't as hard as people want to believe it is. Barring any medical conditions, there is only 3 things you need to do.

1. Eat less and more frequently. It is called grazing.
2. Make sure the meals are protein and carbohydrate sufficient. Anyone who tells you to cut carbs all together to lose weight is an utter fucking moron.
3. Get off your lazy ass and exercise.

Eating habits are about CONTROL. So if you can't control yourself, no diet will ever work for you.

I never understood why people allow themselves to be tricked into thinking they have to subscribe to the latest wacky diet scheme in order for them to lose weight.

If you repeatedly diet with no result isn't it obvious you are doing something wrong.

Sorry about the rant... I recently had this debate with someone who wanted to lose weight but not have to put the effort into it other than trying to find a magic pill that will do it for them.

I would say depends on the ramens and if you consume the entire package.

Something else that's funny, Special K always pushes their Special K diet- replace breakfast and lunch with special k and lose 10 lbs, yadda yadda... but there are a ton of cereals out there with the same calorie count as Special K, so if you did pretty much any cereal (with a few high sugar kids cereal exceptions) you would acheive the same result.

The sodium is wild. I'm sure you can. But after a few days you will want to puke and your cholesterol will be through the roof.

I have a friend that lost weight eating nothing but ramen.. But she only ate 3 meals a day and worked out.

The funny thing is even the "sugar" cereals have roughly the same amount of calories. The major difference is the vitamins and nutrients.

a person likely could lose weight but the sodium intake would be enough to KILL you

princess 06-16-2009 08:33 PM

For a diabetic like myself.. the carbs would literally kill me lol

Vitasoy 06-16-2009 09:36 PM

As long as you don't use the flavor mix.

DatingGold 06-16-2009 11:44 PM

shimmy2 06-17-2009 12:37 AM

if you wanna shed pounds just do some simple weight exercises, nothing burns fat like lean muscle even when ur sitting on ur ass all day in front of an array of monitors

That or some kind of sport activity...better than cardio because you can do more since it's not as boring. For me it's been tennis - it's been shaping me down despite me eating reeeally bad.

rock-reed 06-17-2009 02:12 AM

Interesting responses!

quiet 06-17-2009 02:18 AM

exercise, don't eat like a fucking moron, and you will lose wieght. then exercise some more.

The thing about low carb diets is that your bloodsugar will be stable. And therefor it's easier to control your eating habits. Also, protein and fat will make you feel full longer.
