Price tag on health care overhaul rises by the week

Anybody else noticing this? Just the other day they said $1 trillion. Right now they say $1.6 trillion. Couple weeks/months ago they said $800 billion. Oh, and don't forget that these budgets are highly dependent on several other actions/concessions all taking place at the same time. How much have we spent on Iraq and Afghanistan so far? How much were we supposed to spend? Yeh. The real cost will never matter, only the perception of the cost. Funny. |
You realize all these different numbers are the CBO scoring different bills, and sometimes the difference between CBO and OMB numbers?
Another thing to note kind sir.....these cost estimates don't count monies that will surely be saved down the road when the load is lightened on emergency rooms and things like that, because there's no way for them to calculate that at this point, although the consensus among the experts is that the savings will be substantial. |
