Any of you have a veggie garden?
 

Dunno what its called in english.

Little garden aimed to "breed" vegetables.

Been having and working on one for 2-3 weeks now, and today i noticed 8 seeds had popped. How cool is that hmm.

We usually grow some tomatoes and basil and a few other small things. We did not this year for some reason though.

I don't have a garden but I have a balcony. In the past, I have grown tomatoes out there but we are going away for a good part of July. So, I skipped it but apparently my mother in law has been growing me some in pots and will bring them down for me when she house sits while we are away. I love fresh tomatoes.

not as big as I used to but still grow tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, a few grapes, eggplant, peppers. my yard is too shady to really go crazy but if I could I would. :)

tomatoes (a few varieties), corn, broccoli, beets, string beans, basil, zuccini, lettuce (a few varieties) - booming! (except the broccoli... huge plants but no broccoli... not sure what's going on)

This is my 3rd year summer gardening, i love it, and this year i've gone off.
8 different types of tomatos, 36 tomato plants in total, all over 2 feet tall already.
5 different kinds of peppers from hot to not, 18 - 20 in total
Onions
Carrots
Zuccinni
Squash (acorn)
Pumpkin.
and tons of radishes.
Green beans, peas, lima beans and a few other assorted beans.

For herbs I have Paresley, orregano, rosemary, and basil.

I also have a large assortment of potted flowering plants, cause they make me happy.

Given the oppertunity later today, i'll attempt to get a few pics myself.

I love to garden! I am growing corn & a few Vietnamese veggies I have no idea what they are called in English. I also grow lettuce and carrots for my little bunny. I grow these in pots put them in his habitat for a few days and then take them out for a few so they recover.

I just started growing Wheatgrass. I was amazed at how fast it grows.

5 tomato plants (the best having 24 about-to-ripen tomatoes on), 4 cherry tomato plants (hundreds of little buggers on them, already picking them), courgettes (picked first 3 corgettes last weekend), 5 cucumber plants (4 cucumbers already), potato patch (already harvested replaced with icebergs), 10 lettuces (the rusty red/green variety) - all gone and eaten, carrots (waiting waiting), peppers (full of mini green peppers), melons (in flower), turnips (autumn), leek (autumn)?

all grown from seed (except tomatoes, which were small plants)
All in 13m2 - first year I tried this shit and it's fantastic!!

Yep. Heirloom tomatoes and summer squash. :)

I have tomatoes, peppers, celery, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, jalapenos, spinach and 6 different kinds of lettuce. :)

Tomatoes, a few varieties of hot peppers, cilantro, onions, and peas make up my small garden.

Two friends and I converted our back yards in to co-op organic gardens a few years ago and have just about everything. From lettuces and cabbage to beans and carrots, onions, rhubarb, potatoes, tomatoes, stevia for a natural sweetener, and herbs. I am trying to get some water melons this year but I don't think I get enough sun up in the pacific north west. And of course I cant forget the hops for brewing!

Forgot to mention that the tomatoes and peppers were bought as small, already established plants in flats. So i kinda cheated there, but everything else came from seed. Most from last years garden, a few are new accuisitions from the nursery.

I've deadheaded my cherry tomatoes - they were going nuts and going over 8 feet tall. For the other varieties, I take great care of them... remove all sprouting new stems between the main stem and leaf until there are 2 to 3 "bouquets" of tomatoes. Then deadhead that stem and let 2 or 3 other stems develop. Lather, rinse repeat.

If you don't remove developing stems, the plants puts too much energy into growing and not enough into fruiting.

Woah, that's quite the garden! How big is your yard? :)

We grew 3 types of tomatoes, sweet peppers, sweet basil, cucumbers, strawberries, rosemary, thyme last year.

This year I want to grow all the same plus we have Avocados, Figs, Bananas and Guava trees growing in our yard which is REALLY cool!

I have a pretty nice Garden - Tomatoes are already over a foot tall, garlic is doing well, onions, peppers, carrots, chives, dill, sage, kohlrabi, and strawberries. Strawberries are full on right now so I think I'll make me a fresh strawberry daiquiri

Even though I'm on a few acres, except for the house it's completely forest - I don't have enough space that isn't blocked by huge trees for a proper garden. I am doing tomatoes in pots on the deck this year. Now to keep the pugs from eating them when they fruit.....

I love veggie gardens and would soo love to have one.

so, I kind of went for the "cram everything in there and see what grows" style of growing veggies. Problem was, that cos the ground was so rich, everything bloody grew. And grew like nuts!

The overall view from the south (kind get the other angle as the cherry tomoatoes at the end are too dense).

Cucumbers growing along the fence on the left with carrots in front of them and in the foreground the lettuces that went in after the new potato harvest a couple of weeks back. You can just make out a couple of melon plants snaking their way through the lettuces. 5 varieties of tomatoes in the center, and the 5 cherry tomato plants at the far end. Courgettes (zuccini) are on the right of the tomatoes, can just make out the odd big leaf. And small peach tree in the foreground to the right of the giant-leaf basilic.

Lost in all that somewhere are peas, turnip (squash?), spinach and leak and lots of different herbs!


Can't wait for these giant "coeur de boeuf" tomatoes to ripen....
