Things getting interesting in Iran

Turn on the news and check out the size of the protest rally going on.

Si 06-15-2009 08:43 AM

Just seen that myself.

Could be a civil war?

Wizzo 06-15-2009 08:44 AM

Yea, I've been following it and is interesting for sure!

SilentKnight 06-15-2009 08:48 AM

Definitely something to keep an eye on.

The election HAD to be fixed. You can't tell me the majority would vote to reinstate a lunatic who promises to toss nukes into Israel.

nation-x 06-15-2009 08:50 AM

The Supreme Leader has ordered an investigation... whatever that means.

Agent 488 06-15-2009 08:51 AM

western propaganda. who cares.

Tom_PM 06-15-2009 08:59 AM

We in the U.S. know all about regetting who we chose and then somehow they overstay their welcome.

I could care less who runs Iran, but it's pretty clear that Ahmadinejad rigged the election. And it's not like Ahmadinejad is popular in Iran these days.

What amazes me is he has the balls to shut down cell phone texts and entire portions of the Internet. Could you imagine if that happened here in the US?

SpicyM 06-15-2009 09:18 AM

..oh just some stupid feministic cunts in the streets :2 cents:

ExLust 06-15-2009 09:26 AM

I'm still in A(H1N1) fever. lol

mikesinner 06-15-2009 09:49 AM

I hope they take their country back in a bloody revolution.

Doh.... Sounds a bit like... Ohhh whats his Name???

Sarah_Jayne 06-16-2009 08:15 AM

I have been following a guy from Iran's flickr feed. He has some interesting pics -http://www.flickr.com/photos/armin_bb/

kane 06-16-2009 01:21 PM

I read a few months back that Iran has a higher percentage of people in its population under the age of 30 than any other country in the world. Many of these younger people are more western minded and more moderate. They want to change that country and it just might be happening.

WebairGerard 06-16-2009 01:32 PM

following this closely. will be interesting to see how this turns with each day.

DWB 06-16-2009 01:43 PM

Honestly, THAT is what we need in the USA to get our country back. Take the streets, stand up, fight, tear the place upside down until the government is FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE once again.

Let me tell you something, I would be on the first plane out of Thailand if such a thing went down and get right in the middle of it. :thumbsup

I left the USA because I no longer believe in it. If there was a revolution, I would proudly be part of it.

I have an American passport. They OWN me, regardless of where I live in the world. I am still American even though I don't live there or believe in the current system.

art914 06-16-2009 02:12 PM

yeah, it's very interesting indeed. when you have that many people on the streets, multiply that many a couple more times for those who are on the same side but doesnt show up on the street.

That's the spirit! It's too safe, too "fetishizing", to grin at a revolt from a safe distance...

smutnut 06-16-2009 02:26 PM

I'm watching CNN right now. I thought I was watching the LA Lakers Riot but it turned out to be Iran.

Also in a side note, Obama is very upset with N. Korea because they are belligerent! BELLIGERENT! Can you believe it? Let me repeat. They are being BELLIGERENT!

What the hell is going on in this world?

BELLIGERENT! :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

1) Do you have ANY idea who difficult it is to get a new passport somewhere? No, it's not impossible, and I may do it someday, but it is a process that I am unable to do at this time. I'm locked down working in Asia for a few more years before I can do such a thing. But even then, I would not renounce your citizenship. See #2 for why I would not.

2) I still have family there. I'd rather not have to apply for a visa, and maybe get denied, if I had to return home to visit my family, go to a funeral or visit someone who was ill. Perhaps if I had nobody left there, I would have no need to return.

Hey, if the shit hits the fan, I want to be there to do my part.

Yaawwnnn. Ur a pussy. Just admit it.

Agent 488 06-16-2009 02:49 PM

i really hope no one believes this is nothing more than a stage managed "regime change" by political proxy.

I don't think it can be much more than that even if they honored the vote since the actual running of the country goes to the Supreme Ruler (The Ayatollah, a religious fanatic) and not the President who this voting is all about.

I don't want to make light of it, but much more concentration should be going to this North Korea thing, and actually we should be putting it on China. They are probably going to get the brunt of it when the launch pads don't work and the missle takes out North Korea and the winds take the radiation into China.

SilentSound 06-16-2009 03:11 PM

Was it the CIA?

Probably wouldn't hurt China's already seriously polluted skies much. :Oh crap

A US passport is gold, you don't renounce US citizenship if you have it, no matter how much you hate the system.....DirtyWhiteBoy is doing the right thing IMO

No - he's being a political pussy. You don't do what's "convenient" in his case.

femdomdestiny 06-18-2009 07:32 AM

Do you?

Do you really think that protests there are spontaneous without help from outside? (USA?)
