What happens if you do $5000 in sales and..

they chargeback after the period pays out and you already have the money?

yes, this is a serious question, Ive only had maybe 2-3 chargebacks ever, and it was on next door nikki after the site wasnt updated anymore.

cybermike 06-14-2009 09:46 AM

Teach me your ways? :)

sponsor fails probably if it was epass, and you have -5000$ on your account and you look like fraudster :D

Manowar 06-14-2009 09:51 AM

it must have happened at some of the huge sponsors that paid out weekly, hard thing to swallow no doubt

fuzebox 06-14-2009 09:52 AM

You mean if all $5k worth of sales charge back?

nosey 06-14-2009 09:58 AM

IllTestYourGirls 06-14-2009 10:00 AM

shit I thought $275 in one day was a lot :error

I guess it depends on the sponsor. I know on some casino and poker sites if you have a negative balance it doesnt carry over, on others it does.

EscortBiz 06-14-2009 10:13 AM

in most cases they write it off i guess

minddust 06-14-2009 10:45 AM

i would keep the money for when they will call you up on GFY:upsidedow

btw you got a bigger pic of your avatar? :P

Robocrop 06-14-2009 02:01 PM

I would just keep them and switch sponsor ;) ( J/K )

WiredGuy 06-14-2009 02:04 PM

Well its safe to say after that they probably won't want to work with you again. And from what you said it sounds like the site isn't being updated anymore so i doubt you have an interest in promoting them again. My guess would be for you both to walk away.

hahaha..

bbm 06-15-2009 12:07 AM

it is bad :)

v4 media 06-15-2009 01:07 AM

I got hit with around $5k in chargebacks on dialers a year later. but as the sponsor was paying me a month in arrears, I had to take the hit.

Raf1 06-15-2009 01:25 AM

in a business like this, honesty pays off. Doing the right thing might lose you some money now, but I've found that 9 times out of 10 it pays off.

raven1083 06-15-2009 01:29 AM

that was pretty bad in that case

rowan 06-15-2009 06:41 AM

I don't think it's unreasonable for the program to want the money returned, considering that $5k worth of chargebacks (all at once?) contrasts quite sharply with a total of 2-3 over several years (?). That's like a ding-ding-ding affiliate fraud warning.

mOrrI 06-15-2009 06:47 AM

Its strange the minimum... :(

Spunky 06-15-2009 06:49 AM

They send somebody over to talk to you

DaddyHalbucks 06-15-2009 07:16 AM

Do they still allow you to login?

Si 06-15-2009 07:38 AM

Id probably laugh then shit bricks

geedub 06-15-2009 07:59 AM

happened to me once with a year subscription on outpersonals.. they left my account open to promote, i just went negative whatever the amount was. way way less than 5k though

i was just speaking Hypothetical

Didn't happen to me, just curious what would happen.

Ive only had 2-3 chargebacks ever, only because the site wasnt being updated anymore.

BradM 06-15-2009 09:41 AM

It would be a loss of a large amount of money, and possible merch account burn.
I'd send someone to sack you in the balls.

Klen 06-15-2009 09:43 AM

I was once in minus on lightspeedcash but recovered fast.

rowan 06-16-2009 10:28 AM

Years ago one of my affiliates on Verotel had a single chargeback which took her payout to negative... they immediately suspended her account and wanted her to pay the balance via CC before they re-enabled it. She told them to f. off and removed her links. With the account previously in good standing they effectively chased off the affiliate and lost future revenue.
