After you open a Pepsi or Coke 2 litre. How do you store it

I toss mine in the fridge door. But they seem to go flat really fast.

Anyone get a better way?

CDSmith 06-12-2009 12:32 PM

I squeeze the air out of it, then tighten the cap really well.

Stays fizzy for about a week.

:2 cents: , I thought it was a weird OCD type thing when I saw a friend of mine doing this. I finally asked wtf and he said the same thing. I'll be damned. It works.

jmcb420 06-12-2009 12:34 PM

I use the fridge, flat in 3 days.
My friend actually opens it and leaves it on his counter (closed of course) It's always warm so you have to use ice, but its never ever flat for some reason.

justinsain 06-12-2009 12:36 PM

I couldn't tell you because it takes me about a day and a half to drink one.

pornguy 06-12-2009 12:41 PM

I usually toss one down in a day. But if for some reason I dont get to it the second day by the early part of the third its flat.

Lifer 06-12-2009 12:43 PM

Drink it all at once or it is flat

Smaller bottles taste better and have more fizz

Evil Chris 06-12-2009 12:44 PM

Remember when those bottles were glass?

2012 06-12-2009 01:25 PM

yup this is true for some reason if you leave it out of the fridge it will last longer.. i drink a 2 litter in about 2 day 3 tops and it is normally still fine but after that it is flat

Try putting the cap back on.

ReGGs 06-12-2009 02:23 PM

I usually keep it in the fridge and it lasts a little less than a week. The trick is to screw the cap on really tight. Of course this usually pisses off my girlfriend who can't open the bottle afterwards.

Godsmack 06-12-2009 02:58 PM

I never buy the big bottles, i buy a pack of the mini coke cans..always fresh coke when you need it..:thumbsup

HowlingWulf 06-12-2009 05:02 PM

There are little cap devices you can put on to pump the air out so it doesn't go flat.

MarcyM25 06-12-2009 07:03 PM

I store it on the counter instead of the fridge, lasts much longer!

bronco67 06-12-2009 07:12 PM

Gorilla fuck the cap as tight as you can get it without breaking your hand.

really? got a link to them?

i have literally for 20 years been wondering if there was some little invention that could keep a big bottle of soda/pop from going flat after half of it's gone.

i pour a ton of pop down the drain cuz once it's flat i don't want any part of it.

hankphone 06-12-2009 08:29 PM

I usually just throw the cap out and stuff a hankie in the top and put it back under my bed.

you can usually find them hanging in smaller super markets like Marsh or Krogers where all the soda is.

:2 cents:

JFK 06-13-2009 01:39 AM

the reason they go flat is because of all the space left after you drink, the carbonation escapes into it and when u open it, wosh out it goes and u have flat soda:warning
