Cashing CCBILL checks in Spain...
 

Only in Banks? Rates?

Expensive? Conversion to euros?

Any info appreciatted.

I get my ccbill checks to a USA address, is a courier that re-ships them to me.

I will be moving to Spain.

Actually im in Uruguay, and here is very easy to cash those in any
exchange money business, and the cost is near 2% of the check only.

Thanks to any fellow adult webmaster from Spain who wish to give me
some info and details about this subject.

i would use wire transfer and set up your minimum payment to at least one thousand if i were you

And a ccbill wire is cheaper then?

One bank cashed four cheques for a fee of $20aud. Another bank charged $20aud per cheque. You need to have a good read of your bank account's fees and fine print, then compare it to the wire method.
When the US exchange rate moved out of my favour, i came to hate CCbill cheques.

So it depends on the bank too...

my experience in Europe (Spain, Franc, etc.) is that it's very expensive (+30€) and takes a lot of time (up to 1.5 months).

It's a shame that ccbill wire transfers are also expensive, $30. I guess they make some nice margin there.

If you receive 12 wires per year you end up with a ccbill yearly bill of $360... (better than dealing with the checks but still far from ideal).

You would need to shop around the different banks and compare.

I'm in the UK at present and my bank charges probably around $12/13 for a batch of checks which is very good. Time to clear is generally no more than a week.

I only use it for small value checks though.

I use wire transfers for high value payouts. The only charge then is the CCBill fee.

la caixa used to let me save up checks and cash them all for 1 fee with no hold.
but not anymore, 6 weeks hold and atleast 15euro fee..

Just set up a wire, takes 1 day and costs 15 euros.

And I've still got adult bouncer checks for the odd $100 cause they were canadian bank with usd, the cashing fee was more than the check.

What is it with americans and these God-awful checks anyway?
