EasyAdult 11-28-2002 03:35 PM

Bored 11-28-2002 03:36 PM

did you do it more than twice?
the first time i just picked 54
because i was too lazy to think

the next time i picked 11, then realized i couldnt do it, then 22
i think thats what most poeple will do at first
then they realize it read thier mind and moved on??

just a guess..

:thumbsup

ServerGenius 11-28-2002 03:37 PM

It got mine wrong......

DynaMite

EasyAdult 11-28-2002 03:37 PM

It is just a mathematical calculation on even or odd numbers, they maken it difficult by showing alot of numers and signs, but there is just a 50/50 chance that they randomly pick the right symbol.

check it.

BruceM 11-28-2002 03:37 PM

Interesting...

Candyman69 11-28-2002 03:38 PM

man it read my mind EVERY fuckign time

Mr Cheeks 11-28-2002 03:38 PM

mine did not work though. i chose 99 and it blew it. haha

EasyAdult 11-28-2002 03:39 PM

Yep, they randomly choose between even or odd numbers...

a scam, it seems difficult, but is mathematical easy

just my 2:2 cents:

Theo 11-28-2002 03:39 PM

lol

the symbols are repeated all the time

Bobo 11-28-2002 03:39 PM

Simple mathematics

Bored 11-28-2002 03:40 PM

if i saw the card trick again i could tell you how its done
but they switch around the cards, its kinda silly

Funkito 11-28-2002 03:41 PM

That process on a 2-digit number will always yield a result that is 9 or a multiple of 9. That is one of the interesting properties of 9 in a base 10 counting system.

I'd be interested if there are similarities in none-10 base counting systems. Great trick.

pipp 11-28-2002 03:42 PM

stupid shit got me wrong all 3 times I tryed. Booooooring next

kenny 11-28-2002 03:42 PM

WTF? How can this be, its the devil I tell ya "The bloody fuckin devil!"

StuartD 11-28-2002 03:43 PM

see these numbers??

9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81, 91

They're all exactly the same.
And no matter what you choose, any number, when you subtract them, they'll be one of those numbers above.

And all those numbers, if you look, are the same symbol... so it always guesses right.

Voila :thumbsup

Theo 11-28-2002 03:43 PM

its good for generating impressions in a banner exchange page!

EasyAdult 11-28-2002 03:44 PM

This is truly a great example of showing that Complex systems can be so easy...

just like programming, most of the time you think to hard, and the sollution might just be an IF / OR statement...

Manga1 11-28-2002 03:46 PM

The answers are all multiples of 9. So, if your number is 16 then you subtract 7 and get 9. If your number is 25 you subtract 7 and get 18 (9x2). If your number is 39 you subtract 12 and get 27 (9x3) etc. This works all the way up and you'll see every multiple of 9 has the same symbol.

ldinternet 11-28-2002 03:46 PM

Bobo is right, pretty easy. :1orglaugh

First, realise that when you look at the table, notice that every multiple of 9 has the same symbol. Including 0.

Take any number... I'll take 63. Reverse it, I have 36.

63 - 36 = 27
Is it divisble by 9? Yep. So it "read" my mind.

Try it. Take any integer above 10, reverse the numbers to get a second number. E.g. Choose 654 and reverse it to get 456. Subtract the second number from the first number, the result will always be divisible by 9.

On the chance that you choose a palindromic number like 323, 88 or 9669, they have 0 as the same symbol of every multiple of 9. Sweet. :Graucho

Houdini 11-28-2002 03:46 PM

Subtracing the two digits will always give you a number divisible by 9. They assign a sybmol that is associated with all numbers divisible by 9.

Hahaha... I was just gonna say "what did I win?" too...

Would have been sweet if it was $1K... I'd demand ya split it with my broke ass :winkwink:

eroswebmaster 11-28-2002 03:56 PM

LOL...I figured that woulda stopped a few hearts.

But I suck ass at math so glad you guys sorted it out for me :)

Now I can rest my mind knowing it's not being invaded and my good ol' foil hat is still working.

yup, exactly... i figured it out without even clicking once...

then after started clicking i noticed everytime it changes the symbols at those numbers, so it makes you believe it actually doesnt have the same answer evertime even though it is the same numbers, lol, that especially makes it look more interesting to the simple mind... pretty cool

psyko514 11-28-2002 06:47 PM

for the record, funkito actually had the answer first, although he didn't go into detail.

for those who say it "guessed wrong", the problem is between the keyboard and the chair.
you either didn't read it properly, or you can't do math.

whats an IF / OR ... you mean else? OR is a comparison operator. :thumbsup

Reminds me of a class I took in High School.. Math Analysis. Getting these number patterns to cancel each other out in really fucked up ways -- mind-bending shit for a 16 y/o kid...

Bobo 11-28-2002 07:37 PM

Reminds me of highschool too when the teacher used to post a question and ask me to answer it when I couldn't. I was made to be a class dumbass.:(

Sambuka 11-28-2002 07:52 PM

VERY EASY to solve, just look closely at the numbers, every page is RIGGED to show 1 simbol, then it REFRESHES with a new symbol each time you play.

They have placed that 1 simbol into the list about 10-20 times so its hit by the countback equation you do.

99 - 9 - 9 = 81
98 - 9 - 8 = 81
97 - 9 - 7 = 81

81 - 8 - 1 = 72
80 - 8 - 0 = 72
etc etc

So the whole first row all points to 81, so they make 81 a X and then the same happens on each row.

These things are very well thought, some smart / bored people coming up with these things.

did you read the rest of the thread??
why do people not read threads before posting??

"hmm... this thread has 43 posts, but i'll bet i'm the first with the answer!!"

or did you open the thread when there was one post and then spend 4 hrs trying to figure it out?

why not? 11 -1 -1 = 9 I tried it three different times, with three different symbols coming up, all of them correct.

Not sure how it being divisable by 9 makes any difference
