Kotex exploded in my chicken wings!
I got some frozen wings on sale, really cheap, so I figured to make some hot wings.
So I put them in sink water to thaw. Pull them out the package, but this "kotex" pad thing was frozen to the wings. I have seen them before so no problem, it will fall off when the wings thaw. I just checked the wings and the kotex thing broke apart and there are these balls of "clear gel" floating around in the water. It looks like crushed ice except it a gel. WTF is that??? Should I throw this food in the trash? |
unless it is a bloody kotex i think you are safe

Chances are its silica gel used as a desiccant.

WTF???? This isn't jeopardy! OK! :1orglaugh |
Gabriels right it is Silica gel. Do not eat the food. Silica gel is usually non toxic by its self but most manufactures cover it in other chemicals that are highly toxic.
I suggest throwing out the food and cut your loss. No use in getting very sick over $2 in chicken wings. |
Why the hell didn't you just run it under the tap first?
|
You should go to wingnuts for wings! If you go on sunday it is happy hour all day! Yummies :)

But I don't want to buy that anymore!!!! I don't care if it's "safe". I want to buy wings, not wings plus strange chemicals. |
