Traffic Magnet spam -- how they do that?
 

I'm sure you guys have gotten that "TRaffic magnet" email spam where they take "screenshots" of your websites....


www.ALEXA.com seems to do the same thing...


my question is how are they doing this? What module are they using if a module at all... is this something that can only be done on a windows box or something?

At first I was thinking imagemagick..but I don't think so.

Err.. no I think it would be more along the lines of some programming library or module that I haven't discovered yet.

You could do it on a windows box pretty easily. It's possible there's a way to do it on a *nix box, but I don't know one.

one thing is fucking sure.. traffic magnet knows shit about who owns what sites... I keep getting their spam about sites i have nothing to do with...

I JUST sent traffic magnet an email saying if I received ONE more of their spams I'm img srcing their site.

They spam over 8 of my emails and I'm getting sick of this shit. Everyday there's at least of them in my inbox. I tried to remove my email but that doesn't do anything.

I hope they send me another email, then you guys will see their site as "page cannot be displayed".

Same here. And it's always the same site that I get notified for. I even told them that it wasn't mine.
