would u want people to know ur income?
how many threads have you read where people are wondering what other people in the industry make? and it's always the same thing happening... most people either lying about what they make or reluctant to give out that info (aside from the occasional jaw dropping stats posted by some guys)
what about people in the public eye, such as professional athletes? namely the nba, nfl & mlb where it's common to see yearly contracts to go into the 15+ million/year range. i notice that when players are getting talked about by commentators & analysts, that it's a lot more frequent nowadays to include their salary as some kind of filler. would you want everyone to know how much bacon you brought home? i mean, having coworkers knowing that is one thing, but neighbours, drive-thru clowns and the assholes pumping your gas... i dunno. and then theres the criticism if these people happen to be carrying (first one that comes to mind is iverson) |
I don't care what people earn, B T W: there lying anyway....

Does not matter who earns what
But face the fact this is a multi billion dollar industry |
People always exagerate their income and amount of traffic they have. Can rarely get a person to answer those things accurately.

probably didn't make myself too clear initially... i didn't want this to turn into a 'tell me your income to i know where i stand' thread.
i'm more interested in whether or not you'd feel uncomfortable if your income figure was made public; either to your co-workers, friends and/or the public in general |
are you from the taxes ?

do you know why pro athletes' salaries are made public?
Because they want them made public. When pro sports unions/players associations were formed in the 1960's that was one of the first things they took care of. Before the owners would keep what they were paying each player a secret, they would intimidate players into keeping their salaries a secret from the other players. If one player knew the other player who wasn't as good as he was was making 50,000 and he was only making 35,000 he'd be demanding with good cause to have his salary doubled to 70,000. That all changed with the public disclosure of salaries. For better or worse. It's now part of the problem though. All it takes is one stupid owner to give 14 game winner pitcher 15 million dollars, then every 14 game winner demands 15 and a 20 game winner demands 20 million. The players associations love this, one owner desperate for a winner, sets the new market price. I see it getting a little better, i think some sanity is at least starting to show. |
I wouldn't want anyone knowing how much I make..
I get people messaging me on icq asking how many sign ups we make per day..... They say that its just so they can know roughly how muvh they will make and the proceed to ask me for things I use to get traffic to my galleries like my submit list as they want to make money......... I just say its none of their business as it isn't.... :) |
