If you use Internet Explorer, Step Inside Please

If you're on IE, does my site load OKAY? Click Website Copywriting

I'm trying to figure out if the tables load okay for everyone. My designer is saying it loads okay on all browsers and versions :helpme

Loads fine on IE7.

nudecanada 06-01-2009 10:55 PM

I looked at it in MSIE 6.0 and it looks pretty bad.

In opera, it looks great.

I never use MSIE much anymore tho...but a lot of surfers probably still do. :2 cents:

That explains it... my designer is on IE7 and firefox. I'm on FF3.

Anyone know how many surfers are on IE6? Or what %?

Looks fine on IE 8.

As far IE 6 it's 15% and falling. It was about 20% 6 months ago and 30% a year ago.

FYI you've been helped already but there's collections of downloads somewhere online of different browser testers...I dunno what they're technically called but it's like stripped down versions of the browsers where you can load the sites in them and see for yourself without having to have the whole browser program. If you search on Twitter for it, it probably gets RT'd here and there as that's where I originally came across it...when I did IE8 hadn't come out so it had IE6, IE7, FF2, FF3, Chrome, Opera, and Safari, and it worked nicely. Helped me bitchslap my designer at the time who completely missed IE6 compatibility.

Looks good

Domain Diva 06-02-2009 01:32 AM

According to the stats for all my various sites, both porno and mainstream, there are still a lot more visitors using IE than FF.

Pros and cons to each if you ask me, FF crashes all the fucking time and it can't handle simple stuff like PDF's but it's defo quicker.

Thanks for the figures, Gator.

It's a bit goofy in IE6 (yes, I actually have it).
The "leased monthly writer", "website copywriting services" and "seo link building services" sections are white background with white bulletpoints. Yep, the dreaded "white on white" effect that sends webmasters into a tizzy if it's on a join page, lol. Clearly a small error somewhere. Do you want me to try to get a screenshot?

Tom_PM 06-02-2009 11:00 AM

Here is what I mean in ie6:

Tom_PM 06-02-2009 11:04 AM

Ah I see now that I load it in firefox 1.0 that it's supposed to be next to the other bullets with the same bg huh? Well, that screenshot should help fix it. BTW, it's probably an overall width issue in ie6, since the botton half is also stacked like that rather than side by side.

Thanks, PR Tom.

Tom_PM 06-02-2009 11:11 AM

Cool, I'm a dinosaur. Want me to check it in dos 2.0? lol
