Kimbo Slice on Next The Ultimate Fighter Show
With Rashad and Rampage as Coaches.
This is gonna be a hell of a season! http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns |
I haven't watched many of the ultimate fighter shows, but I will check this out. If he wins it will be huge, if he loses his first fight it will probably signal the end of any chance he has a bigger career.

heheeeh nice :) looking forward to it
|
should be entertaining... he won't be the worst there..
|
wow nice, looking forward to it for sure.
|
Sweet. Heavyweights too.
This is a fun season so far too. |
I bet thats going to be wild.
|
That Dana White guy is one clever mofo.
|
LOL take the dude when his star is falling rather than rising for a lower price and possibly expose how bad of a fighter he is all the while banking on all of it. Dana is awesome!
|
You know, I have nothing against Kimbo, but if there is one thing you can't teach, it's a chin, and Kimbo doesn't have one. Not to mention that if Bas Rutten couldn't get him to focus, then I seriously doubt Rashad or Rampage will be able to.
I predict some serious drama in the house, because you know some of those heavyweights are going to want to get up in his grill and test him, but other than that I predict an early exit for Kimbo... |
Can't Wait!

I love the Ultimate Fighter tv show and this sounds very entertaining but it also leaves me with some questions. First, why would Slice's management agree to this? The fighters on the tv show are not paid to appear on tv, and there are no purses other than fight bonuses for knockouts and submissions. So is the UFC actually paying Kimbo- and only Kimbo- to appear on the reality show? And if so, how will the other fighters like that?
Despite his loss to James Thompson Kimbo is still a fairly big draw, and he can probably still get at least one or more nice sized paydays on a one or two fight contract to fight in Japan or perhaps one of the alternate promotions like Strikeforce perhaps. I recall reading that he got as much as $500k or so for his Elite XC fights. Even to collect half of that for a fight or two would be a big deal, and passing those potential opportunities up possibly a big mistake. Or does he really think that he is going to win the competition and get the six figure contract or at least do well enough to get invited to fight in the UFC? Maybe they are banking on this making him an even bigger star even if he doesn't have a chance to win the reality show? Another interesting thing in the Yahoo article. It is going to be an all heavyweight season, so no fighting their way into the house this time. I think that there are simply not enough good heavyweight fighters available to cast for the Ultimate Fighter show. |
kimbo will go down early in the season. he's a brawler not a fighter. get him to the ground and he's done. one shot to the chin and he's down. granted he's one big MOFO but definitely beatable. what else is he gonna do... Elite XC? Nope... UFC probably offered him a few bucks and "maybe" a chance to fight on an undercard on UFC one day.

Should be entertaining if nothing else.
I'd agree it looks like he doesn't have much of a chin and with those small gloves, punches always sneak through and catch you. |
Kimbo Vs Brock Lesnar... the ultimate hype fight
|
I cannot WAIT for this season. Kimbo has absolutely no chance of making it to the finals, but entertainment wise should be fun.
