Because dating sites sell the fantasy of meeting and dating people, instead of actually introducing you to new people. They basically are webcam sites, with a different marketing spin.

I think most people in the biz know there is not a huge group of beautiful 20 something women who need the internet to get laid. You would think everyone would know this but what the heck.

Some camsites have the same deal but the fling ones seemed pretty cool as they have cute girls who were getting signups...
