What dessert to make for Thanksgiving?

I have to make a dessert (among other things) to take to dinner tomorrow, and I'm not sure what I want to make. Any suggestions for something different? Something that will make them think, "Damn! DearAbby makes the best dessert ever!" Or should I just go buy something that looks really good and put it in one of my own dishes?

do this

buy a plain cheesecake

then in a pan, heat a package of frozen strawberries, half a bag fresh cranberries, some finely diced pineapple, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 tsp. fresh ground nutmeg and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon....heat it thoroughly until cranberries are nice and soft....when it's heated keep it in a container you can reheat or take with you and keep warm...then serve the chesecake covered with this warm compote (works best is the chesecake is well refrigerated and the compte is warm) them sprinkle with finely diced walnuts or pecans and a dab of whipped cream on top....

the warm/cold combination with the sweet/sour flavors will be make your guests cream their pants...

for the ultra daring, use fresh rhubarb instead of cranberries...

no worries...before porn, I was a chef :)

I'm always experimenting with flavors, textures and layers...sometimes for the better, sometimes to the horror of my family ;)
