CCbill sites: why some aren't using other payment options like CCBILL 900, etc..?
CCbill site owners: why some of you aren't using alternative payment options like CCBILL 900, online check, etc.. ? Noticed a few big ones are only offering the credit card option.. any reason?

Using checks still, but honestly thinking about dropping them. Thats the most often payment that gets returned.

On a side note, what happened to the bar le stud pic on your server? Can you please post it if you still have it.

Personally for me it's a matter of not wanting to discourage a credit card holder from picking a billing option that pays less (ccb900), or sometimes not at all (ccbill check returns are quite a high percentage).

Hmmm, I just saw a $69.95 DEBIT in my account for phone.... so I am removing phone links.

around 30% of check signups end up being refunded, but the remaining usually end up being worth twice as much as the average credit card customer as they tend to rebill twice as long so in time it adds up and if you don't offer check transactions you are leaving a good chunk of money on the table also i don't think you will lose any credit card holders to a check sale, and if you do i wouldn't worry about it, as it's probably not going to be one of the ones that gets refunded i would only offer a no trial full price recurring option, no trials and no non recurring on checks |

I turned off checks probably 2-3 years ago now. |

I've heard of a lot of guys getting fucked with 900 stuff so i've never used them.
I do have checks on all my newer sites. I hate how many returned checks i get and wish ccbill would do a better job of fraud protection when it comes to checks but at the end of the day i guess i'll take a few returned checks to get a few extra sales via checks |

btw the stud on the top right (Persius) will be at xbiz next week... for those interested... lol. |
It's a shame that 900 Billing sucks in the USA, this is not CCBILL's fault though, rather the underyling telecoms infastructure. Like with mobile, USA is behind the curve when it comes to phone billing which is why I recommend that clients deactivate us for that market.
If you are interested in employing global phone billing in conjunction with CCBILL's 'cascade to URL' feature, hit me up:winkwink: |

Whatever happened to Bdjuf? |
Yea.. i have had checks, 900, 800 numbers.. everything.. and I think I am going to turn them off in day ( the end of the month)
u know a couple of years ago.. it might have been more important.. but not i don't think it is.. i think most people have a visa / visa debt / mastercard... Quote:

It seems it's more common these days for "CCBill sites" to actually offer other processors on their join pages than it is for them to have the additional CCBill join options etc :(
|
If you offer the checks option, anyone with a slight bit of knowledge or just an experimental streak can gain free full access to your sites. You think there aren't a lot of surfers who already know this? A customer at the join page with creditcard in hand can then put that card away and log in for free instead. How many sales does that lose? compared to this mythical demographic who have a US-based checking account - which they are willing to use online - but no credit card ...

You can set your checks to not allow access until the money has cleared, you can make it so people have to confirm (via email) before the account goes active, alllll types of stuff to lower your cb/refunds and fraud with checks, making password issues go away.
You get a good bit less check sales, but you go through wayyyyyy less bullshit. Adding web900, checks, dialers, etc wasn't ever really about the paysite owner, it was about the Webmaster. That 1 extra sale, that's all we need to pull the right webmasters ratios down. Adding a new processor today, is more about "sharing" your current money with someone new, rather than them adding to your pie and making it worth adding them. But today, it doesn't appear that these extra billing options lower your ratios or actually add net value to your business over having only credit cards.. I booted them long ago, I know many have that.. and money isn't down. |
