Intel Processors can anyone tell me if there really is a noticaeable difference...
For example: The obvious is the Ghz and FSB but in plain old usage is there a dramatic speed difference between these diff processors?
Intel® Core? 2 Duo E8600 (3.33GHz, 6M, 1333MHz FSB) Intel® Core? 2 Duo E8500 (3.16GHz, 6M, 1333MHz FSB) Intel® Core? 2 Duo E8400 (3.0GHz, 6M, 1333MHz FSB) Intel® Core? 2 Duo E7400 (2.8GHz, 3M, L2Cache, 1066FSB) |
get the 8400 and be happy. if you dont do video encoding you wont care about quad core, and gaming doesnt really push the cpu as much as gfx cards anyway...
but.. juicy saving money? just get the most expensive one man why do u have to ask questions like a comman man? |
between the 3M cache and 6M cache, yes.
the rest - nope |

Get one of the 6M cache chips for sure. |
+1 for the 8400
|
another +1 for e8400
*if you're into overclocking you can easily raise the clock to 3.8 with stock voltage - i'm currently using it. :) |
