Server sales drop 25 percent worldwide
 

Worldwide server sales suffered a 25 percent drop in the first quarter, hitting their lowest level in at least 12 years, according to a new report from market tracker IDC.

interesting study, people are apparently really having a hard time reaching in their pockets to buy new hardware

just shows the general state of things:2 cents:

they could be switching to more cost effective options like Supermicro which probably isn't monitored for trends or they are simply getting less traffic like a lot of people and thus no need to upgrade.

or businesses dont anticipate more traffic than they are getting now, at least enough to justify extra servers
