I am using hosting at righthosting.com
my server is down now, but they seem to be down also
Anyone else with them? Anyone knows whats going on?

yup, two of my servers are down.. and their website is down.. looks like major connectivity issue

I'm sure they'll have it worked out in no time. I would urge everyone to remember though, that when a problem shows up, don't expect key players to be on the boards answering your questions right away, because they're usually knee deep in the issue getting it fixed so that they can post to say the problem is fixed - not that they're working on it. :thumbsup:thumbsup

My heart rate would calm down a few beats when they do come on the board to say they are working on it

caz just got back to me.. some AC units in their building had problems, and some power circuits are shutdown... he says within 30-60 min that should be up.

Because I didn't think it would be polite to use it when making a post in a thread about another host.

I totally understand, but having been in tight situations in the past, I know what it's like - and how important it is to post when you have good news to report, not a reminder that something is still wrong.

i disagreee. its all about managing customer expectations.... we all can understand that problems happen, its how you handle the problem is a measure of a company.

so if its just to make an update that says, still down, but the time stamp is recent, then it does help customer to know what is going on.

that being said, i am not saying its the job of the NOC to post up on all the various message boards that they are down.

my point was a general response to your general point.

I am for 27 days on number 1 and going for the grand money price
Number 2 is like 4th tenth of a % behind my ass.
I cant permit loosing this price, invested way to much traffic in it

I see your point, and I think a measure of balance would be a reasonable middleground then. But, even when I was working in Sales and no longer heading up support at past companies, when a problem arose, I was in the DC with my hands on the issue. At any rate, building problems are like upstream provider issues - you just have to hold your dick and wait, which is super frustrating for hosts.

he was in the car on the way to the NOC... and while in CA you can talk and drive as long as you have a headset, i pretty sure, texting to a website is a big no-no.

its a nice money price and based on the increase of amount of sales based on previous periods. And the numbers are so fucking close to number 2 now
but i managed to stay on top for 27 days, i should fight(!) this one to the end :)
