LOL Just blew a hole in my back box

That celica I purchased a couple of weeks ago now sounds like a tank.
I knew the back box was on its way out, comming back from Soton yesterday it all of a sudden got very loud..lol, when I got home had a look and there is a big hole on the top of the back box, gonna go get a new one fitted in a bit for £80.00 thats around $127.00 so its not to bad.

Great cars.I've always liked Toyotas from the 80's and the 90's.Beautiful cars.Take care of her. :thumbsup

MR2's aren't girly at all. In fact, once you acclimate to the caveats of a Mid-Rear layout + short wheelbase, it's an amazingly fun car.

Yes, they are a bitch to work on - yes it can be pricey.

But, for the cost of a WRX Sti for example, you can build a jaw dropping 400whp MR2 that will rubberneck any crowd. :2 cents:

On the other side of the coin, for the cost of a WRX Sti you can buy a NSX, the MR2's purebred MR big brother. :thumbsup

I got a screw in my back tyre of my bmw, just found it today. Normally its not bad, I pay $300 for a tyre and get it put on however on my car I have run flats, they are $550 per tyre. Pissed me off when I found it.

i had the same thing happen with run flats too - don't touch the nail, just drive it to a tire place and they can plug it up... did it for me free at the corner station

it's worked fine ever since :)

Blazed 05-28-2009 10:59 AM

How good are run flats? If you drove over a stinger could you carry on as normal? Could you then drive over a second/third stinger?

SexyVan 05-28-2009 11:03 AM

I thought you guys called it a silencer. A back box sounds like it's the trunk or something but you call that the boot I think right?

Yesterday while I was driving one of my fuel injectors completely died, ohm'd out at zero. Found out shops wanted an average of about $750 for one injector install, the dealer was closer to $1k. So I got up this morning and replaced it myself, took less than an hour. It may be time to open up a car repair shop.

yep we call the trunk a boot and gas - petrol, people over here say back box, silencer and muffler..just depends on how posh you are I guess.

Yep they charge anything from £25.00 ($39.00) upwards for an hours labour plus whatever the parts cost over here. Its a good biz to be in I guess
