Anyone who has owned a message board knew this...

Web 2.0 is very har dto make cash from. Cudos to Lensman for making bank on gfy but for most of us who have had a message board it is great for page views and sucks for cash.

MetaMan 05-24-2009 04:54 PM

kudos to you for kissing ass.

Sly 05-24-2009 04:54 PM

GFY has always had a pretty targeted demographic that had money to spend. I think it would be pretty difficult to replicate this kind of market. I really can't see any other industry in a similar situation.

fris 05-24-2009 04:54 PM

web 2.0 isnt hard to make cash from.

thats where most of my income comes from

Sly 05-24-2009 04:55 PM

In other industries they have trade publications... in our industry, we have GFY, LOL.

Si 05-24-2009 05:06 PM

web 2.0 is hard to make money from?

Your joking right?

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-24-2009 05:08 PM

Web 2.0 is nothing but a glossy covered gradient version of web 1.0 :2 cents:

mynameisjim 05-24-2009 05:24 PM

On a small scale, web 2.0 sites can make some money. But on a larger corporate scale, there are very few true success stories. A lot of money changing hands, but actual revenue is still very disappointing for 90% of web 2.0 sites.

If you can't make money from forum traffic, you should go and work in a different industry.

These are people that hang out on your site, so there's a high level of "trust" already. It's an easy sale.
