What percentage of signups will I lose by not offering visa card processing?
 

Does anyone have an approx idea what percentage of signups I would lose without visa processing?

Too many.

I seem to recall Visa holding about a 60% market share.
I know personally I only have 2 cards that are MasterCard, err well 3 but 2 are from the same place just separate accounts. One of them is a typical credit card, the other two are just my paypal debit cards.

The last statistic I heard was that 65% of all porn purchases are with Visa. Also consider that the majority of debit cards are Visa, not Mastercard, so anyone without a credit card that has a debit card is a sale you'll probably lose also.

I think the bigger question is why would you not offer Visa?

For some (AU) seems that they have issue getting it. Few others are just really odd and do not wish to pay the annual fee. Then of course there are the times when Visa just will not approve a given site*


*this happened to me last year with a site concept. Could not find a trustworthy billing agent that would handle it, despite that it was 100% legal content.

You will lose half or more.
Not to mention aff will not sign up if you have a program.

I would never start something without having an option to accept VISA.

Actually I would guess VISA is even more dominant in the non US markets.
